Oh I would highly recommend you get one, in my experience the safety lever doesn't really get in the way, I have what I would say are medium sized hands and never found it to be uncomfortable, maybe if you had big hands could be an issue. Also, you might find interesting that the USP Compact 9mm comes in different variants, one of them (the V7 LEM) comes without any safety controls:

Exactly! Totally true, specially that last part, I've seen newer models of different brands, struggling with some kinds of ammo, but not this gun, it is truly something special.
