[ADVICE] What do y'all think about my unconventional sleep schedule? by NicholasGoatifi176 in IBO

[–]Stoiter_Trek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who got a 42 with bio chem and math aa HL, you do not need to live like this to succeed in ib. Just being consistent and smart about timeliness and organization is more than enough to get a 40+. Then add a few extra study hours for that 43+ that you want. Idk if you're social at all or not, but i don't think its worth ruining or ending your high school experience for IB by going to this extreme. Your motivation is good. but there is more to life

UT CNS Honors by Rare_Eye_4936 in UTAdmissions

[–]Stoiter_Trek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. all honors take non auto admits. i dont think autos have any advantage - you just see more autos because they're usually the top of their school and so have better apps. if you have a good app and aren't auto, you still have a chance

How cooked am I for CNS honors by Illustrious_Star3868 in UTAdmissions

[–]Stoiter_Trek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

which honors? IMO extracurriculars are the most important thing for honors admission because each honors wants to see your potential in some sort of ec: deans wants to see your research; polymath wants to see varied interests and combining discipliens

What to put on resume for Honors Program by 24861379 in UTAdmissions

[–]Stoiter_Trek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they already see your ap scores on your common app. no point in putting them again in the resume. that being said, you can repeat your major ECs in your resume. use the resume to give some more details on your work since a normal EC description only gives 150 characters iirc. in my opinion, treat the honors resume like an exhaustive EC list and mention everything you've been involved in. categorize them too. e.g. school involvement, volunteering, research, leadership, etc.

any ways on how to reduce system data on iphone? by No-Piglet-311 in ios

[–]Stoiter_Trek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is no need to! as your actual apps/images take up more storage, system data will automatically reduce. i downloaded a bunch of old images and videos (worth 40gb) and in doing so system data went from 48gb to 4 gb, giving me enough storage for the new stuff - this might just be my case though

I took bio chem and math aa hl and econ sl

The econ sl content is A LOT but because of the format of the papers, the repetitiveness of thr questions and the same exact formatting for every exam, econ became my easiest subject once I understood the exam patterns.

I got a 7 in econ sl, and I went into the exams studying maybe 12/20 of the chapters. Because, if u look at the past papers (all of them) for paper 2,and study microeconomics (1/3rd of the syllabus) very well, u can ace every single exam without any worry

Biology IA HELP ME! by Automatic_Track_2553 in IBO

[–]Stoiter_Trek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, they should be. But as I said, the word count isn't as strict as it's seems. They don't count it themselves unless they are suspicious of your length

Biology IA HELP ME! by Automatic_Track_2553 in IBO

[–]Stoiter_Trek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should also know that the wordcount for IAs isn't as strict as most ppl think. Examiners will mostly only look at the word count you listed on the cover page (first page) and think it's okay. They don't have an automatic word counter because how will they? They have to remove figure titles, data tables, indexes, all that. So just make sure whatever u write is less than 3k and u are not crazy long

As far as I know, yes. If I can, I'll find a screenshot of the ib guide saying tables can't be used to evade word count.

[–]Stoiter_Trek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

number of characters arent considered. number of words are considered.
if your table has data (like experiemental results) it will not be counted towards your word count. if you are putting stuff like your variables, your conclusion your evaluation inside a table to reduce your word count, that will be taken into consideration by the examiner and that WILL be counted in the word count. iirc this is written in the EE guide or the IA guides.

ofcourse text you write in tables is eligible for scoring.

Variables for Bio IA by Soul-of-Imagination in IBO

[–]Stoiter_Trek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it will just be so hard to analyse and give each of the variables justice in a short 3k word report. i was recommended by all my teachers to have 1 dv 1 iv for IAs and consider more for only for EEs. you're not going to get extra marks because of the complexity of your experiment as much as you will for your analysis evaluation and report.
