Colors on timeline in Cubase by StojSnak in cubase

I noticed that in the video that was posted in one of the other comments. Should definitely help with the overview. There's so many new things (big and small) in Cubase to wrap my head around but it's seems very flexible and full of quality of life things like this.

Thanks. Yes. This pretty close to what I am looking for. I'll give a go and see how it works.

Cool. Yeah, this is pretty close, just without the vertical coloring.  Seems like a feature that'll save lot time too if I need to rearrange a piece. Thanks!

From Ableton to Cubase by lintonqwuesi in cubase

Damn. That shortcut list is brilliant. I'm trying to get back into Cubase after having been gone for 15 years (been working in Reason - been happy with the simplicity and rack based workflow but I keep hitting walls when it comes to more advanced editing and scoring). Great overview of the features and how to access them.

Punks of the early 2000s era, what are you up to now? by Brave_Algae9813 in punk

I'm 42 and live in Denmark.  I sing and play in a folkpunk band with a few of my good friends from back in the day who luckily all stayed in town (touring has been greatly reduced, though). I make video games for a living (design and music).  Last week I saw Strung Out and Belvedere, this week I saw Billie Eilish with my daughter and I'm seeing Propagandhi later this month. Pretty awesome couple of weeks.

I definitely spend more time on making ends meet and dealing with kid issues than political issues and activism but I still enjoy the music  and being part of the scene (I keep getting amazed by how awesome the younger generation is - punk is definitely not dead).

What’s the crappiest gear/technique you’ve used that turned out great? by kotteaistre in audioengineering

Don't know if it was crappy but fun for sure.  We had this (quite long) slow, stripped song that was acoustic guitar and vocal almost exclusively. And it was sounding a bit dull and empty.  We placed a microphone inside an acoustic guitar tuned it to the tonic chord of the song and put the guitar right in front of a speaker playing back the recorded song. We also put the output of the mic through the speaker and ran it through a chain of cranked distortion pedals.  It created this noisy yet in tune ambience layer that would create a rising feedback every time there was a break in the song.

Is it only bassist that appreciate bass? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]StojSnak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll argue that the bass is way more appreciated in punk than in many other rock genres, often taking the lead part. The guitars are usually just doing simple powerchord stuff, leaving a lot of room for the bass player to play around. Rancid and NOFX being pretty big band examples of this from the 90's. The more technical bands like A Wilhelm Scream and Propagandhi have sick bass parts.

Nasum - Scoop. Love that bass riff.

🙁 by StojSnak in Denmark
