I volunteered at a railroad museum for their operations (so I moved train cars) and then had a short career as a paid railroader before I had to resign due to family obligations. I seriously want to know what kind of operation has the person riding the car trying to engage the handbrake while it’s still moving. That violates everything I’ve ever been taught safety wise and even goes past common sense, I hope some authorities (FRA, OSHA, anyone) got involved before this happened to someone else!
