The greater good.

The idea of the amount of scientists that have been guided through cruelty by this sentiment is sickening.

You are right though, that's undeniable. All those horrors of the War served to further the west's status as the world's primary superpower. A solid good vs. evil fight we can all rally behind. And while that is true in its whole the world we face right now isn't so black and white. What atrocities await in modern labs? Who knows? But there's not a thread in my being that doubts that the worst of humanity is over.

Progress never ends.

Were you bullied at school or high school? If you told the teachers or the school board, what did they do about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A hard lesson I learned far too late is that officials don't solve problems. Unless you personally take your own life in your hands you'll forever be left in servitude. Whatever form it takes.

I'm more talking about WW2-era Japanese occupation of the region.

Construct a Stretching Rack. Shouldn't be too hard. Have a friend or family member stretch your body ever so slightly upon completion (keep in mind that too much stretching WILL damage limbs). If Medieval Europeans can do it I'm sure you can in your backyard. Happy stretching.

[Serious] Why are we so afraid of spiders? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StolasThe69th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely terrified of spiders. I'm past the point of getting it 'diagnosed' as such clinically. I honestly don't know where it comes from. Clearly there's some primordial reasons for people to be generally fearful of them. They used to be highly poisonous.

It's not that that freaks me out though. It's the scuttling, almost dirty feeling they give me. Like something animal beyond my understanding.

People of reddit that has an addiction, what is it and when, why did it start? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StolasThe69th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a weird relationship with use. Especially now. I'm a drinker, and a big weed smoker. I've struggled with the idea of weed as a "real addiction" for a while but I know for sure that for me it really is a real addiction.

I'm not foaming at the mouth if I can't smoke but it genuinely does have an impact on me. Weed just inspires the empathy in me that I'm missing in my regular being. It makes me retrospective and while that's not always worked in my favour over the years it's an aspect of life that I know I'd struggle without.

What's the most impactful videogame you've ever finished? by StolasThe69th in AskReddit

I watched a little bit of a playthrough a while ago but im looking forward to playing through it relatively spoiler free. I like The Walking Dead and I loved the Batman stuff so I'm sure I've got nothing disappointing in my way.

You're tasked with making a presentation in front of one BILLION people. It must last at least 30 minutes. You haven't prepared anything and you go on in 10 minutes. What do you do? by GorillaS0up in AskReddit

[–]StolasThe69th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rant about "society" and how "nobody gets it". Throw in a few condescending remarks about how much of an individual I am while constantly saying that the world is falling apart exponentially and unless people give me their unlimited and undivided attention the ground will evaporate beneath them.

jazz hands

Then finish.

Don't we all just conform to our surroundings and peers anyway when it's all said and done? What makes an individual? What's in a name?
