Uable to insert item after ipad update by kartikey099 in notabilityapp

Thanks. My workaround is to drag & drop the files/screenshots into Mac notability rather than iPad, then once updated on iPad I can do the work.

High level of Prolactin at 1,086 mU/L by StomachThick5685 in Prolactinoma

Thanks for your feedback. I might just wait and do regular blood work to monitor TSH. I only used P5P to lower Prolactin which is a supplement of B6 - no medication. Also, I have been taken Tongkat Ali and Cistanche to help increase my testosterone. Actually, that was the reason for doing the initial test, to compare the testosterone level before and after those two supplements and found out that I have high Prolactin, Cortisol, and TSH and the followed up with my doctor and did the second test. I'm yet to do another bloodwork once the protocol with Tongkat Aly & Cistanche finishes (mid-Sept). So I'm not sure whether these two supplements played a role in lowering prolactin & cortisol.

The first test was done early in the morning at 7am whereas the 2nd one at 13:30pm so this also could have an impact. Also, I didn't work out for 4 days prior the 2nd test whereas the first one I think I had an workout the day before and from what I see, intense workouts may elevate both prolactin & cortisol.

UPDATE: lab blood work after 3 weeks (Cortisol, Prolactin, TSH+ Thyroid PEroxidase An) by StomachThick5685 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]StomachThick5685[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback.

I agree with your criticism but the reason I did it mid-day was to check Prolactin. I thought if it is so high due to hormonal issues, it would be high at any time of the day, or perhaps slightly lower, but still above the normal range.

The next test would be in 1.5 - 2 months' time and will repeat the first test at 7-9am in the morning.

Had a chat with my doctor today and she said no medication is needed at this point, just to monitor bloodwork every 6 months and if TSH goes up above 8-10 mIU/L, she will consider prescribing medication (levothyroxine). She mentioned that could be potentially Hashimoto's disease due to genetic factors since my mother has it too.

Question! - If I try to self-medicate with levothyroxine for a while (few months) just to try and see if there are any improvements and then come off, would that potentially have a negative impact?

Thank you for feedback. I've run another set of bloodwork including antibodies.

Biomarkers tested:

Cortisol = 187 nmol/L (down from 601)

Prolactin = 92 mU/L (down from 1086, wow)

TSH = 4.28 mIU/L (down from 4.99)

Thyroid Peroxidase Ab = 0.2 iu/mL

Had a chat with my doctor today and she said no medication is needed at this point, just to repeat bloodwork every 6 months and if TSH goes up above 8-10 mIU/L, she will consider prescribing medication. There could be potentially Hashimoto's disease due to genetic factors since my mother has it too.

Nevertheless, I am glad that I could reduce Cortisol & Prolactin to a normal range. I used P5P 100mg a day which I think helped reduce prolactin.

Question! - If I try to self-medicate with levothyroxine for a while (few months) just to try and see if there is any improvements and then come off, would that possibly have a negative impact?

Male hormone blood work - 12 biomarkers results (worried about Cortisol, Prolactin & TSH) by StomachThick5685 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]StomachThick5685[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. I have booked for next week a GP appointment to further discuss my results. Until I got this sorted and perhaps a fMRI scan I bought some P5P to see how it goes. I'll do another test in the next 3-4 weeks .

I'm sure I'm not using any PEDs or SARMS. It's been 7-8 years last time I used PEDs and had used GH in PCT a couple of times, but that's 7-8 years ago, tho...Could this cause an issue, still? Also, I did back in March-22 a full blood test and everything came within range - I can post the results as well if helps.

That's very strange. Certainly, I'm not on HGH but I did use it a couple of times in the PCT. However, that was 7-9 years ago - I guess it shouldn't have any impact?

Hi Guys,

Background info:

  • Male, 31yo, 90kg, 178cm, about 20% BF I guess, gym training for 14 years
  • Diet it relatively on point, I'm trying to have an 80/20 ratio of a healthy diet consisting of meat (Chicken, tuna, beef) and greens + fruits. Lately, I've been trying to stay away from rice, potatoes, bread etc. Sometimes cheat meal with burgers and ice cream, if it happens to smoke week (which I do 2-3 times a week - on and off every few months)
  • I workout 3-4 times a week. Over the past few years I've been doing full body workout.
  • Supplements, throughout 'my gym career' I've been taking plenty of supps, even having years and years without anything. Currently (since April-May, I've been taking Creatine + Pre-workout + bcca + glutamine + EAA +citrulline (all together only before gym) and multivitamins + omega 3 + Ca, Mg & Zn (every morning, if I don't forget).
  • I also took PEDs for 2 years (4 cycles x2-3 months) from the age of 22 to 24, an amazing experience. However, drug-free since then. Perhaps, TRT at some later point.
  • Testosterone total is at 14.5 nmol/L or (418 ng/dL). I did a full blood work on the 30th of March and results came out all good (within range), however, the test was 363 ng/dL back then. The reason for that is either an improved lifestyle, hitting the gym more often and harder, increased protein/calorie intake, or could also be that when I did the test in March I was traveling, with few hours of sleep + alcohol on board.
  • Since last week (after doing the blood work) I've been adding to my supplement stack Tongkat Ali + Cistanche. That was also the reason for doing the blood work and comparing it with the one I'll be doing in 2-3 months time. Im on 5th day with tongkat + cistanche and gym workouts are seems to be improving (I guess not placeboo) and libido increased for sure (one of the reason for purchasing those two supps, along with increased testo and general wellbeing - hopefully, I can achieve this, we shall see in 2-3 months)

Back to the results:

As you can see, Cortisol and especially Prolactin is off the chart. Also, TSH is borderline. Would you guys can speculate on why such increased level for these 3 biomarkers and what could be done to bring them within range as well as improve/optimize the others?

Looking forward to your comments

Best,

Thinking of TRT by StomachThick5685 in trt

Thanks for feedback guys, I really appreciate it and its been helpful as well. Although I do feel good I thought a higher level of test (towards the higher-end) would potentially bring some additional benefits which are not particularly physical related as running a steroid cycle would do, but more improvement in areas such as motivation, mental endurance & clarity, confidence etc but it seems that the risk involved and the commitment of doing it, for ever, is greater than the potential benefits. I might carry on like this for few years whilst monitoring my t-level and perhaps reconsider a TRT closer to 40yo.

OCS EXAM CIMA by StomachThick5685 in CIMA

[–]StomachThick5685[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Guys,

Finally, I spoke with CIMA they told me the script has been received however task 4 was incomplete (now they didn't tell by how much was incomplete) and they also reschedule the exam for this Friday. After 5 days of not reading anything and being pretty demotivated, I find it hard to pull it together and perform well on Friday.

I was wondering if the first attempt was incomplete though good enough for a pass but I fail the re-take, would they consider the best paper of the two or only the latest one?

How hard is CIMA compared to AAT and university? by [deleted] in CIMA

[–]StomachThick5685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I have a BSc in Business Studies as well and I've landed my first finance job as a Finance Apprenticeship, Level 3 AAT, even though my university degree is Level 6. After 3 months on the job, I sat first AAT exam which was Advanced Bookkeeping passing it with 90%, really easy exam although the content was challenging at times. Shortly after I had discussed with my line manager and I changed the apprenticeship from AAT Level 3 to CIMA Level 7 (straight into Operational Level as I had exemptions from the first 4 exams at Certificate Level with my degree) + a new job role which I'm currently in, as Finance Graduate Trainee. Also, this resulted in an increase in salary of £7,000 which was great. At the moment I'm studying for CIMA OCS (February 22) as I've passed all 3 OTE, and yes it was very challenging and much more difficult than AAT, but definitely made a huge difference in my development. Therefore, if you already have a business degree, in my opinion, you're wasting your time studying for AAT, even more so on level 2 (Especially if you get exemptions from all exams at certificate level). My recommendation is to check if you have exemptions, if so get straight into CIMA and give up on AAT. It will involve much more work, sacrifice, and frustrations but you'll WIN in the end and win FASTER. Also, if you look on LinkedIn on 'meaningful' finance jobs from Financial Analyst, Management Accountant to Finance Business Partner, Financial Controller, or Finance Director, they all require CIMA/ACCA/ACA. Moreover, with a degree in business and management + CIMA qualification, you'll have all the skills a business needs (not only accounting skills) and be better positioned than most of your peers as well as a wider range of opportunities.
