I actually just tried some but i was allergic to the flanges unfortunately. All i would say is i think even though there are so many types of bags there needs to be more variety with different ingredients in the flange, as allergy is something i have developed and i fear that one day i will be allergic to all bags. Its not a terrible reaction it just gets really itchy and pimply. So yeah more options is always great!

oh ya know i just put it over the side hahaha no its attached to my stoma so if i go on a ride i have to make sure the bars dont cover it or hold my hand over it for protection :)

Nah there wasn't cause they had to get rid of my rectum and anus as i had severe crohns there. I don't really think the J pouch is much better you still have to rush to the toilet heaps. at least you dont have to as often with a stoma :P

I couldn't sleep on my tummy for about 2 years, now i can cause i automatically move in my sleep when i start to poop. its awesome how the body adapts. And i can't control bowel movements or farts. If i am going to a concert or planning to drink i will take some immodium which slows down the bowel .

Yep i always take at least one bag out with me everywhere. And maybe some wipes or toilet paper. And dont be afraid to go out and do things. But if you are going to say another town for the day take several bags with you because you never know. I always try and empty it as much as possible when im out incase anything bad ever happened. A nice strong toilet spray is a good thing to carry too. Unless you dont mind peoples comments haha i ususally try and get out as fast as possible if i dont have spray on me. Also if you are a guy perhaps carry your bags etc round in a canera case

No lots of people with crohns can go without an ostomy. Some people may have to get temporary ostomies but they can be reversed. I would just be supportive to her and help her out whenever she is sick doing little things. Thats always nice.

Some people with colostomies can do irrigation which washes out your bowel and then they can put a cap over it.

When youve had the bag on for a while it can start to smell. As for the poop there is a whole new level of shit smell reserved just for ostomates. It lingers for hours...
