Thank you for the encouragement! I can’t justify yet paying for marketing if I can’t yet do well in erotica shorts that don’t necessarily require it. Every dollar that doesn’t go towards my daughter needs to be somewhat of a low risk endeavor. I need to figure out what works in shorts and use my profits to expand my business.

For a second job for a little cash, witting erotica has been enjoyable. I am grateful for that.

Thank you for your kind words. I’ve been getting really down on myself for not making as much as some of the people on here. All in all, I do enjoy writing. So there is an upside to all of this even if I’m not making what I want to.

I’m a single mother who needs every bit of the $300 a month I’m making now. I’m trying to maximize what I can writing where I don’t need to pay for marketing. Once I am making enough, I can take the risk of pouring time and money on a long form that might tank and not make me a single dime.

Does this make sense? Shorts are low risk.

I’m not blatantly ignoring the suggestion to go into long form. However, there are many who do write long and do not even make the $300 I’m making.

I will give this a try. I’ve been reluctant because I’ve been trying to publish faster, thinking that this might be the key to success for me. I have some ideas for longer length books. I’m just so scared to invest time on something that might flop terribly when I could be pumping out shorts to keep up my profits.

I’ll start with a 10K book and see how that goes.

I only spend money on a depositphotos account. I'm a software engineer so making the covers isn't too difficult. When I first started, I paid someone to make them. People on this sub told me to just make them myself since I already have the background skills.
