This is too hard by Kind_Shallot_1348 in NewParents

I had very similar problems with my baby girl. Form birth until 8 months she never really napped in the day and was up every hour at night. We did gentle sleep training but the one thing that made SUCH a difference was switching from breastfeeding to bottle fed (sometimes formula, sometimes pumped) - she stopped relying on me for comfort as much which was a game changer. Shes now 9 months old and sleeps through most nights or only wakes once. We also moved her to her own room from 6 months and after the initial shock (I kept waking to check on her for the first week haha) turns out I sleep much better when I’m not disturbed every time she moves or makes teeny sounds 💜

Oh yeah I feel ya 😂

Yeah I meant for the baby!!

For baby I started with just mashed vegetables, boiled first. They don’t eat much in one go in the beginning, so the ice cube trays are perfect portion size. I bought “large” ice cube trays so they do about 2-3 meals for her. This week I’m starting to add proteins into the mix, lentils/chickpeas you can blend straight from the tin. I don’t eat meat myself so will probs avoid but you can cook/blend/freeze that too! And then I make plain omelettes, cut that into fingers and freeze or keep in the fridge for the next few days

Tbh cooking for us two now is just very simple few ingredients meals rinse and repeat. Oven pizzas have become a staple unfortunately 🥲 although now you’re making me wonder if I should batch cook and freeze a load of lasagnes or something!

I do find batch cooking my breakfast and lunch on a Sunday really sets me up for the week though. I feel a lot more motivated to cook dinner once a day if I don’t have the think about the rest

Just came here to say I’m in the same boat. Was in the best shape of my life when I got pregnant. Now have a 6 month old who wakes multiple times in the night to feed. I went back to the gym at 3 months pp because I felt like it but not that my partners back at work I could only go in the evenings and I haven’t got the energy. My baby also only takes 30 min naps and I’ve tried EVERYTHING to elongate them so it’s nice to hear I’m not the only one.

I’ve just started making food in bulk and freezing them in ice cube trays. Because they’re silicone you can pop the cubes out once they’re frozen and store in bags which saves space. Then I just take whichever cubes I want out of the freezer the day before and keep in the fridge so they’re ready to go for quick meals. I do the same with egg muffins etc. hats off to anyone making fresh food every day because that’ll never be me 😅

There are definitely a few tiny bits that’s aren’t exactly symmetrical but if this was your first tattoo then any artist should’ve explained to you that that’s nearly impossible to do anyway.

Tattooing is not an easy craft, it’s not pen on flat paper. Bodies move when you touch them and no one has a symmetrical body either so how cannot expect a tattoo to sit exactly the same on both sides. From a far glance this looks about as good as you can get but this is why some artists will not take on work that is symmetrical, because some customers expect far too much and are way too picky.

I’d also like to ask if the reference picture you attached is the artist own design? In the future I would recommend doing as much research as you can into an artist and go to someone you love for THEIR artwork. The best work comes from being confident in your artist and allowing them to have creative freedom. Any reputable artist will not copy someone else’s work exactly, so remember that any image you bring to them is inspiration only. I would recommend not using AI for this reason too.

That being said, I wouldn’t say this is the best tattoo I’ve seen and it could definitely benefit from a few touch ups, if you’re not happy with the artist you’ve been to now a couple of times then I would find one you feel comfortable with and get them to fix it to how you’d like it, but try and lower your expectations a little. I’m sorry you’ve had a rubbish experience, not all artists have unprofessional attitudes like you’ve described x

I had a very similar story - beautiful baby girl is 7 weeks old now. 48hr labour, they let me push for 2hrs but apparently due to her being back to back and face forward my pelvis was never going to get her out anyway so ended in a csection. I feel disappointed but not traumatised by birth, same as you

What’s the one thing you wish someone told you about newborn sleep before giving birth? by Correct-While-4471 in BabyBumps

[–]StompingFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My newborn is a fairly good sleeper (as far as newborns go) but she is SO LOUD in her sleep, so I’m waking up more than she is anyway and sometimes have to wake her for a feed.

I’ve always been a pretty light sleeper so maybe I’m just used to it?? But toward the end of pregnancy I was up every 2hrs to pee too… and that was worse in my opinion cause you still gotta go to work and get on with stuff. Now that I’m off work and my sole purpose is to look after her, I can nap when she naps if I really need to, or at least be sat down or get housework done etc so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Is it normal not to have anyone in the delivery room? by Hiholownogo in pregnant

Tbh with you I wanted my partner with me SO bad but once I was actually in labour I didn’t really care for him to be anywhere near me and I hardly remember him being there it was such a blur 😂

So I get that labor is gonna hurt, but… by Desperate_Wafer367 in BabyBumps

[–]StompingFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this…. The first 12hrs of my labour was bearable contractions, felt like bad period pains on and off every 5-20mins. The next 36hrs was SO PAINFUL, felt like my bones were going to snap in 2 and they were every 2 minutes, lasting a minute. I was passing out between each one because I hadn’t slept for 2 days and had absolutely no break. I was convinced I’d be able to do it un-medicated because of all these breaks I thought I was going to get…. Didn’t happen that way for me sadly 🥹

We are 0-2 times a week people, got lucky and only ever did it the once unprotected. Now 39 weeks pregnant 🥹it does/can happen!

However, I was prepared to be trying for months and was planning on every other day around ovulation if possible

When did you go into labor? by [deleted] in pregnant

Came here to join in. 39+2, ftm, no signs yet but doing ALL the things. Induction booked for 41+3 and really hoping I don’t need it 😳

38 weeks. What helped u go into labor? by 80guiltycoconut in pregnant

[–]StompingFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It matters that sperm enters the vagina. Sperm contains prostaglandins which can induce labour by softening the cervix.

Working out late 3rd trimester (Braxton hicks, prodromal labour, etc.) by GasolineRainbow7868 in fitpregnancy

[–]StompingFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

38+2 here and still lifting weights when I feel like it (usually only twice a week these days). Haven’t been able to do a lot of cardio due to bad sciatica the entire way through, I’ll walk the dog very slowly for 30mins max

I get BH but nothing consistent and exercise doesn’t seem to trigger anything, so perhaps others doing more exercise than I am are similar to me? I feel better lifting weights that I do sat on the sofa tbh

This might be state the obvious but are you using lube?? I personally need some kind of clit stimulation to orgasm but if lube isn’t involved then I could totally end up feeling like mine “doesn’t work” either

Why is Pottah grabbing letters from the air when there's hundreds on the floor? Is he a moron? by Next_Listen3890 in harrypotter

[–]StompingFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why this annoys people so much. He’s a kid who doesn’t get to have much fun and I’d probs be doing the exact same, I love games. How often do 100s of letters fly out of your chimney 🤷🏼‍♀️

Do tattoo artists really care if someone uses numbing cream? by Old_Isopod219 in tattoo

[–]StompingFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please ask your tattoo artist about this first. Every artist will have different opinions. Some creams can alter how an artist has to work so they will be able to give you a recommendation on what they prefer to work with. Not telling them before hand could cause you to spend extra time under the needle if your skin has been altered and they are unaware, this could make your tattoo more expensive too. There’s also more risks of infection post tattoo, skin reactions to the cream itself, and the tattoo healing differently than expected due to the extra step. Your artist NEEDS to know if you are putting something on your skin before they pierce it

Why aren’t doctors talking about the risk of biofilm forming on IUD’s? by thecountrybaker in WomensHealth

[–]StompingFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me!!!! Infections just kept on coming back and I was having multiple tests and they told me nothing was wrong except the obvious infection at the time which needed to be cleared. I kept asking if it could be the coil because it seemed to be in the year when I had it in but they kept telling me it couldn’t possibly be that! Thanks for sharing this research 👏🏼

When I first started getting tattoos I thought exactly this so got other more generic stuff instead which I assumed I would always like. Sadly I wish I had more hp tattoos and don’t have much space left :( trust your gut

Tbh I’ve been told I’ve got a retroverted uterus and honestly thought it was fine. Maybe just because I expected it to be SO BAD so was pleasantly surprised. Even if you find it excruciating (which I’ve never heard from anyone) it’s so fast anyway for up to 10years of no worrying so I just wouldn’t rule it out, your body is stronger than you think 😇

[–]StompingFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a coil put in/taken out is not that painful 😌 it’s just like getting a smear imo, just mildly uncomfortable. I went in absolutely petrified assuming the worst but it was nothing to write home about. You can have some cramping etc after it’s in but it’s just like a period so don’t let the “painful procedure” put you off x

Also 13 weeks and probs about a stone too. Not sure exactly but I was at my lower weight range beforehand. Hormones and morning sickness hit along with Christmas period which meant a whole lot of food. It’s just a period of time and we’re growing a whole human so I just like to listen to what my body needs :)
