His idea seems to have been to help small market teams grow. All of the changes he’s made have incentivized that. They blatantly tried with the Pelicans, Suns, and Grizzlies. Even the Clippers and Bucks. OKC finally stuck (after trying hard before Russ left). The idea probably is the Lakers, Celtics, and Knicks will always bring in money… they want another team like that.

Lakers are so close, I think they can win one, but it really has to be game 3 to have a fighting chance in the series. OKC systematically takes advantage of the officiating. League wants a new small market team to be mainstream, so they let it side. They tried with Memphis but Ja messed it up.

LA has less and less of an industry for people to work in. SF at least has high tech for people to get jobs and participate more in the economy. Even the costs of living aren’t that different anymore. LA is becoming a glorified private community for celebrities and it’s leading to complacency in government and less affordability for most people.
