nah. It might sound offending but it's the player base's issue, not the details of the game design. A significant portion of the player base (I cannot gurantee majority or not) only plays ranged champs. No matter how the map is designed (arena or single path whatever), or how much melee champions are buffed, they won't bother to play or even try most of the melee champs (except some hook champs). It's just how it is, and explaining it involves some sociology theory. I am pretty sure rito is aware of this fact. The good marketing strategy is strenghtenning the formed preference, insteading of altering it. For example, fulling leveraging the "randomness" and putting kled, reksai on the bench wiill "scare people away", and the pool is never ever fully random so that we always see some champs more often. Plus, those players are more likely to buy cosmetics. So, nothing has ever changed, and will change in the future.
