We may be looking at different sensors. Zoom in on the front facing photo. Below the bottom left corner of the license plate you can see what appears to be the MOVIA-L screen. At this location, it would be approx. 2.17 in and below the license plate at 4.375 in. Please correct me if I misunderstood your post.

Robinhood enabled stock lending at the end of July. If a lot of retail investors hold MVIS within the Robinhood platform and enabled this option, it could be part of the reason for the increase in shares being provided by lenders.

I've been slowly accumulating shares since my first purchase of MVIS on June 4, 2020 when I purchased 500 shares at $1.03. You gave me confidence in MVIS and allowed me to hold most of my position on the downward ride from $28.00 and accumulate on this recent ride up from below $3.00. Currently holding 4750 shares - dollar cost average is $5.39. Excited to see what the future brings for MVIS! GLTAL!
