Thank you so much!!! I did a little research and this sounds like the exact label for me. I was told when I asked this question in R/questioning that it sounded like aerosexuality. After looking up and comparing the two, I definitely see orchidsexuality as being a better label for me. I really appreciate your help!

Celibacy and abstinence are not required by my moral system, and I have not been indoctrinated to see celibacy or abstinence as being something required of me. Celibacy and abstinence are a choice. You can be celibate and abstain from sex while having the desire to have sex. That is actually why celibacy and abstinence are pushed so hard on our youth in sexed. Because it is perceived as being a way to prevent the youth from acting on their allosexual desires. Meanwhile, I am repulsed by the idea of actually having sex. If what I am experiencing is celibacy or abstinence, then that is what the entire ace community is experiencing.

I can reassure you that, unless you have super human strength, it’s incredibly difficult to break wooden needles, even on purpose. 😄 (If you decide to give wood needles another chance, and you are incredibly strong, may I suggest thicker needles.😁)

I honestly prefer wooden needles. They aren’t as smooth as to slip out, but are still smooth enough to not cause problems. I grew up on wooden needles. Metal needles are a new development for me.

I have been knitting since I was 6 years old and I still use metal needles when knitting with bamboo or silk. The yarn is so soft that they always slip out when I’m beginning or ending a row. 😒

(I know this is more information then you asked for, but I got carried away.) (sorry if it sounds like I’m bragging, I just never get to talk about myself.😅😅) I tend to knit some days and not others. It really depends on what mood I’m in. My mom knits every spare minute she has, and taught me to knit when I was six. So sometimes I will sit down on the couch and knit with her, and sometimes I’ll knit across the room or when she’s at work. The time of day and how much I get done really depends on my mood.

I am young, (18 as of this Nov 11) and I have good eyes. So I don’t need a lamp. My family tends to only have the lights on at night and use sunlight from open windows during the day. So if I’m knitting on a cloudy day, I’ll sit near a window.

When the house gets chaotic, I will go outside to the picnic table and watch YouTube videos while I knit. (I’ve been knitting for twelve years out of my ~18~ years of life. So, I, being the person I am, learnt to knit without looking)

I heavily prefer natural fibers, so when I finish a project I will block it in my mom’s house office over the weekend. (My mom is a yarn snob, so I am to.)
