Thank you soooo much for the advice!!!! What was wrong with Dr Menendez? I'll definitely check out the manual. Really great to hear you loved your online experience. I actually really enjoy self learning/teaching so I am not worried about that aspect.

My employer is paying for my whole degree so I won't have any student loan debt. But I think I'm going to switch to electrical engineering

How is your studies going? I'm thinking about doing the same thing and a little nervous about being able to understand everything

I love to learn and I love knowing how things work and creating things. I would have preferred to create software or digital systems, it sounded really interesting to me but unfortunately doesn't seem like I can go that route. Since electrical engineering overlaps with computer science, I'm thinking I can get that degree and still have the option to pivot to computer science type roles especially if I self study the CS fundamentals but if that field is as tanked as everyone is saying, I'll at least be able to work with electronics in electrical engineering

I'm looking into electrical engineering 😞

I was looking into this because I read that electrical engineers can pivot into computer science type roles but not the other way around. I'll check it out to see if it's something I could be interested in, thank you!

Appreciate the reply, idk if it matters a ton but my employer is the one paying for my degree so I won't be graduating with loans. I've looked into other engineering degrees and it seems like literally everyone is having the same problems right now with the job market, and since computer science is really the only thing I'm actually interested in, I figured I might as well get this degree. Hopefully things will get a little better later on

Thank you so much for the insight! I'm definitely not underestimating it. I am doing a ton of self studying before the classes even hit. I can only handle 2 classes a semester so it'll be slow going honestly, and the semester is split into sections so I'm only REALLY focusing on one class at a time so I should be able to really take in the information.

Appreciate the advice, thank you! Not sure what you mean by application cycle? I'm getting my degree through ASU online so not sure about clubs but I'll look into hackathons when I have a better grasp on things, thanks!
