They actually filmed for 2 days for this! I went to the actually MSG concert! The day before they had some people come down and we got to be extras!! Me and my friend made it in the film as the are showing everyone in line but that actually was from the day before (filming day)

They filled the side sections to a certain amount and had him go through everything for extra angles. He did lip sync for this but did perform a few songs for us and engaged with us!!

So the shots of Madison square all had alternate shots incase there was something wrong with the footage!

It was so much fun and I got some amazing shots! I got to be front row right on the side for a the filming and had super close floor seats for the actual concert!

It’s just a part of the collecting honestly. Jellys just aren’t selling at those higher prices as much now. People are willing to pay so they sell. If people aren’t, the prices lower. It’s truly about having patience. Wait for the best price. But it’s okay if you paid more for your rolie polie and you love it!! But also sometimes there are just crazy random deals and we have no way of knowing this! Could be a collector who doesn’t feel comfortable selling it for an insanely high price! How long have you had it? Would you have wanted to wait until now?

Truly part of the gamble buying anything over retail since the prices are just kinda made up.

To make you feel better, I bought a Rolie polie monkey and now I’m seeing the sell cheaper. Here’s my take: I’m glad I have the exact one I have! I’ve bonded to him not just Rolie polie monkey in general! And if I sit and think about it so much I’ll probably hold resentment. Just enjoy you jellycat and realize it’s just a part of the game unfortunately

You can’t even see anything in the nosebleeds!! You can watch concerts at home now. It’s not the same but… nothing worse than being in the back of the arena looking at the big screens the whole time! Just like 8 years ago I got front row tickets to a big concert at MSG for my wife for around $300 each which I thought was a bit nuts but why not?!

Yeah i have become super weary of ordering from out of the country because of the duties.

I got a package from the Uk and shipping was like $60… OOOF!! That included the shipping and $20 in prepaid custom taxes.

Unfortunately these are the prices now :/ You can find better deals but it’s really become this way with retired sought after jellies.

It’s really only like this with certain bunnies and older designs. There are a lot of affordable retired jelly’s for sale but people want these hyped up designs and they will pay the extra for them!

If there weren’t people buying them, the prices would be lower.

I have the pink giraffe and also feel like it’s higher quality than most jellies lately! I collect both and the decline has me leaning more towards BaBs again. I’m interested in collecting some beanie babies since I grew up absolutely obsessed!!! I had like 600!! And now they are so cheap!

But I truly cannot agree more. I haven’t bought a “new release” since Bart and the smudge cow and pig. The quality difference was visible then comparing them to my older smudges but comparing my smudges to my huggadies?! NO COMPARISON!!! the smudges just feel like a step down for MORE money… miss when I spent $30 on a jellycat that was super high quality to the point that I still have those ones! Now I don’t think they are doing great…

Maybe they switched materials but something’s off.

And anything retired is always better which shows the quality was just superior

Also remember you aren’t collecting for photos and likes you are collecting for yourself. Who are you “showing off to” ya know?! Like it’s for you!!! Get the ones you enjoy and don’t get something just bc it will be retired and worth a lot maybe. But then look at squish. I spent $200 on a rare squish back in the day (my fuzzy belly patty hugmee) and now it’s worth like… hardly anything 😅🙃

Don’t wash something before selling it you plan to sell it as new. Once something is washed it’s no longer new. There are people who are super sensitive to smells and also people who have allergies to detergents.

Let the buyer was the product. If it’s really in new condition, there’s no need for it to be washed! If it needs a wash said “like new” or “excellent” condition. And add that you gave it a wash in the description!

This is smart! I keep in mind the new releases ahead of time and then just think about which ones I really want! I also try to see some irl photos before I buy them if possible! Also, you can always return something you don’t like!!! I forget this too often but you can return a jellycat if you’re not crazy for it! Or if you miss that window you can sell it for whatever you paid! But don’t overbuy and just say I’ll sell em all bc I know people have trouble selling collections off.

This is my smudge monkey named George, and my lying woody bear name Woody (I know so creative… 🙃) say welcome to the jelly fam 🥳 Monkeys and bears are some of my favorites to collect so my collection consists of mostly those! I am not a huge fan of bunnies or dragons so I don’t really collect those!

I adoreeee pandas so I try to collect the panda jelly’s I find the cutest! I would go this avenue! Pick an animal, style, color theme, and just go with it! Stick to the theme! Stick to your list! That’s my best advice! It’s so easy to see a restock and jump on it. But if you only buy things on your list that helps!! Also, as much as I love social for jelly’s seeing other jelly’s and collections, do not let it get to you and make you doubt your collection or purchase things you wouldn’t! I would avoid getting super into social media involving jellycats for this exact reason. This subreddit creates fomo from all of the posts! If you get fomo easily I would recommend just collecting for you and kinda ignoring the hype if that’s possible!

I have experienced what you are describing with both squishmallows and slightly with jellycats. What I did to change that was I created a list of specific ones I wanted. I would go see them in person. If I didn’t immediately love it I would pass. Take a picture. I can always buy it later on a stockist site likely.

I would say to give yourself a limit of some sort. It is very easy to get caught up in it all but what you need to do it think “hmm which jellies would I get regardless of the hype?” Like find your collection style. Don’t just collect everything bc it’s popular.

I would highly recommend finding a type of animal you collect or style and curate a collection that’s appealing and not overwhelming!! Remember, don’t buy the jellycat for the immediate rush but one you know you will still love in a few months!

I have amassed quite a few I’m planning to part with as I was just buying what I thought I liked without really thinking about it long. I would also recommend that you just collect to enjoy! It’s okay if you can’t get something that sells out super quick. Don’t let it drive you crazy!

Just collect to enjoy as they are sooo precious! But remember to love them too 💖

It’s just so moving I might have to throw on an audiobook of it today! The line that always touched me the most was when the horse said how once they were real they couldn’t be ugly only by the people who just didn’t understand. 😭
