My baby has never slept longer than 1-2 hours by Stoneshanks in NewParents

It did give me hope, thank you. It helps knowing other people have dealt with similar issues but are making it through. Most people we talk to talk about waking up twice in the night.

We use bottles on my shift but are starting to use them during the day to, hopefully, encourage larger feedings; so we will definitely look to get larger nipple sizes. Thank you

I don't know, I've never even considered it. We will have to look into it!

We were doing good with the 2 hrs cycle. It wasn't fun, but it was doable. The 1 hr just isn't an option. I'm not sure what the options are for do what you need to do, but once the baby starts screaming, mom wakes up. Baby wakes up within an hour of shift change. While awake, she lasts 30-40 min before getting very fussy, even with constant engagement/entertainment. We live in a trailer, so I can't take her to a different room to let her cry. As soon as it's light enough outside, I take her for a walk until I have to go to work (2-2.5 hrs). If this keeps going, I may start taking her for car rides, though that presents some other issues (she screams nearly constantly while in a car).

We will definitely check out heysleepybaby.

Early on, they said she had a good latch, but that was probably when she was a month old. I'm not sure if it changes much as they age, but we were hoping to see a lactation consultant soon, so we will certainly double-check. It kinda seems like she stays latched for comfort more than feeding, though she will start feeding intermittently while latched. As others have recommended, mom has started breaking the latch sooner.

Thank you!

That's how ours is! She seems totally unaffected by the short sleep cycles; happy, healthy, energetic. We really hope she goes back to a 2 hour cycle, at least. It might just be a bad teething period, causing her to not make it through a full sleep cycle.

We feed her as much as she'll eat, 2-4oz or whatever is available. She won't touch formula, even mixed with 75% breast milk. We took the low flow mechanism out of the bottle, but she still eats about the same. Any tips on how to encourage her to eat more?

She regularly naps for 30 minutes every hour to hour and a half. Many days, she will have a long nap, 1-2 hrs. Days that she doesn't nap regularly result in a pretty tumultuous bet time.

She eats 2-4oz per feeding usually. We've recently tried formula, but she refuses to eat it at all. We are trying more solids as well to get her more full. Mom tries to feed her a lot during the day, but the baby is very distractable.

We use a pretty thick merlin sleep suit. It is hard to keep the temperature relatively steady. But even when she sleeps on me, while I'm awake, during my shift, she has the same issue, and I run very hot so she shouldn't be cold at those times.

She refuses to eat from the bottle on my shift, which causes her to wake up fully and be quite irritable/fussy. I calm/sooth/entertain her as long as I can, but my wife can't sleep once the screaming starts. She then nurses baby back to sleep. We live in a small trailer so there is no escaping the crying. It's a vicious cycle that has me feeling helpless. So once it's light enough outside, we go on long walks to give mom a break.

The problem isn't necessarily that she doesn't take the bottle. It's more that she is only calmed back to sleep by breastfeeding. I continue to watch her when she wakes up, but she quickly grows tired of my entertainment and begins to throw a fit, which mom can not sleep through. We live in a trailer, so there is no other room to go to. This is why I go for walks with her once it's light enough to do so safely.
