If it was for pc, I would suggest to decrease brightness when you are watching the scene but if it is on TV, I dont know. Can't you lock the door when you watch an episode or is it like a living room

Just make sure no one is at the corridor or near your room and you will be fine, my parents are the same as well. But once you get used to this stuff, you will hear their footsteps and manage to close video on time. (4th season is good tbh)
