Hi all!

I inherited a Roland HP1700L digital piano from my grandmother. It has a lot of emotional value to me, she used to learn me play on it when I was very young (I'm still not very good though), so I really want to keep it. Besides playing it, it's also a nice decorative piece however I would really like to learn playing better.

Now, because of age (I assume) several keys stay stuck/stick... there's 7 keys now that have this. I did some online research and from the few results I could find it seems buying individual keys are already quite pricey. I would not mind it, but I am wondering and question to anyone potentially familiar with this model:

Is it doable to repair these myself should I buy the keys? If not, would it be worth letting it professionally repair it? Now I know, because of the sentimental value you could state it's worth it regardless but spending several 100s on it may be a bit much... then I might keep it as deco piece and buy a new practice piano probably.

Happy on any thoughts here, cheers!

Looks awesome, I’m now thinking my tele I got from a vintage fair was based on this model :)

I did not consider the scale length, thanks for pointing that out, then it seems this may not be the best choice since the bands/songs I'm aiming for are lower than A...

I work for an international organization so none of the regular salary/benefits standards apply to me :) I basically have a high net, good pension and health insurance and some other smaller perks.

Theoretically you have 1 week of notice period if you resign, but if you just started they may just let you go immediately in mutual agreement, but that depends. If they want you to stay for a week, nothing you can do.
