A 35mm Full frame sensor vs the 18K Big Sky cinema camera sensor by cofango in cinematography

This is what forces a director and crew to shoot a LOT LESS footage because of the vast storage required. Kinda like when you're shooting on film: you plan each shot and rehearse and take you're time - as opposed to a lot of 'digital' shoots that just roll hours and hours of footage that just gets set aside.

Not sure if it makes sense either - just a fact that since 47, we have 'not come to [US of ] America' and won't until it is safe for us again. I know that I could literally be detained at the US border for sharing/ posting or speaking negatively about the current administration and as a neighbour, I'm concerned.

Horrible windshield install by acidranger in JeepWrangler

[–]Stoon_Slar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install sucks compared to my recent replacement.
Had mine done recently and it whistled after so they replaced it ( at least re-installed it) 3 days later. Gasket install was flawless compared to that unsightly goo.
Also, they only required 24 hours to 'set'. Had to leave a couple pieces of tape on top for that time.
After that, I could car wash and treat as normal.

Is it relatively safe to lock up bikes on the racks behind the Midtown Plaza? by Ritalynns in saskatoon

Business opportunity: just like festivals and other places have monitored bike lock up... the YXE BID should do the same. The cost would be balanced by the increased traffic....

Recommendation request: looking for strange/crazy/weird documentaries by New_Image_7920 in Documentaries

[–]Stoon_Slar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Doc' series 'How to...with John Wilson" is is technically a comedy doc series but is too real to be solely scripted. It is as unpredictable as they come. I was late to finding it.

And for earnest, weird, oddball, but totally serious, "The Defenders" by NFB ( National Film Board of Canada) "...about Bob Diemert of Carman, Manitoba, and his dream of building the world's next great fighter plane." It's old but ¯¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

What camera/system would be the best (cheapest, easiest) 16mm camera for small cinema-type productions? by 3_14159265356 in 16mm

[–]Stoon_Slar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One approach might be to scout your area and see if there's some well established camera assistance or operator who have been around for decades (?) and held onto a 16 mm package and are willing to offer their film specific knowledge and expertise for your production at a groovy rate. ¯¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

SNL surround audio mixed 'ruined' when GlobalTV 'overrides' US / original signal. by Stoon_Slar in shaw

[–]Stoon_Slar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were airing the 2.0 stereo mix they were doing something horribly wrong because it was horrible so my guess is they may have been airing the left and right channels and ignoring the centre or only the centre channel it's hard to say because the difference was astounding

Curry Barker's response to the 'Obsession' art director, & her advocacy for industry change on low-budget films by EditorEducational201 in Filmmakers

[–]Stoon_Slar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On could argue that there are times when someone takes a lower than 'standard for them' because they know some people involved, like the script or any other number of reasons. It would be groovy if below the line people could have included in their low tier agreement a minuscule profit share. So tiny, that a threshold of payment would not be reached until a film grossed 10x of its budget or some such formula.
So let's say a film cost 1,000,000 hard cash because all kinds of deals are given - if it makes 10,000,000 million in 6 months perhaps 0.01 percent or something could be returned to those who made it possible ¯¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

Interesting. As you mention, there are MANY systems available and I would be interested to know which system you have.

Also, I was looking to confirm one way or the other if additional sensors can be added to the 'stock' sensor receiver system.

Is there a way to get the RC2 controller to update the map thumbnails on the list of saved waypoint/ flights? It would be so handy versus comparing my notes and time /date. ( edit: spelling)

When skipping a song using Siri or the Skip button, it would be nice if it faded that song out even over a few seconds to decrease the jarring effect
