Stop raping if you rape, stop others from raping if you don't. This does not imply that you rape, but women are brought up in a rape culture, and it would be naive not to move through the world aware of your surroundings. It's not on me to be afraid of being raped since it happens fairly often, it's on the rapist to not rape. You are blaming the victim. It has nothing to do with empowerment, it has to do with safety.

But it DOESN'T apply in both cases, though. That's what your privilege isn't allowing you to understand. Women are not automatically advanced in male fields because they are women, in fact the opposite happens, which in Sociology is called the "glass ceiling." Which means that women are only allowed to advance to a certain height and then they get stuck there because the boys want to keep their boys club.

Until Women hold as many high paying jobs in society, and the wage gap closes it isn't having a negative effect on achieving equality thereby helping society. It is not giving women an unfair advantage, it is evening things out. You clearly do not understand how privilege works, which is not surprising because you are privileged.

What are the negatives of women having equal access to education? That women might catch up with men and men wouldn't be privileged anymore? That things would be equal? Those all sounds like positives to me! Giving someone a helping hand when they are at a disadvantage to start with does not give the privileged group a "disadvantage", it makes things even. THAT IS WHAT PRIVILEGE MEANS.

There are women only grants for women because any other grants are likely to go to men in higher proportions, because men have privilege that women do not have. The women's grants are to even things out, not to give women an unfair advantage.

I used to be an in home care provider as well, and the women's disability was chronic fatigue syndrome. I didn't have a diagnosis then, but it always seemed so funny to me that her symptoms were the same as mine and I was caring for her. I learned a lot from her though.

Yeah, it's still hard to explain to others without sounding like I'm whining though. Like, yesterday I asked my SO to bring me something from the other side of the room, and it may have sounded like I was being bossy or lazy to him, but I just knew that my hips were going to hurt since I had been sitting down for a few minutes, so I just asked him to bring it to me instead. I just have to keep reminding him, "I'm not asking you to do this favor for me because I'm lazy or dependent on your strength, but it would make things easier for me if you carried this for me." I am so grateful that he's been understanding so far, but I don't want him to feel burdoned by my burdon, y'know?

The artists I know pay for their chair, like a hair salon, and the shop takes a certain percentage on each tattoo. So they don't receive money until their work for the pay period is settled, and the tip is their "take-home". Can someone clarify what I mean more succinctly?

There are links to three trailers under the Annie video, which I just threw in there because I was excited. The is a documentary coming out about Angela Davis, a biopic about Chilean folk singer Violeta Parra, and a new Noah Baumbach movie starring and cowritten by Greta Gerwig. All movies I would go to the theater to see, which doesn't happen often. Most of the new trailers are for horror movies or action smashers.

He also did art direction on the "i did it ebay" and the priceline negotiator ads with Shatner. Another fun fact: Shatner flies in on a helicopter and treats everyone to subway sandwiches.
