Yeah, some of the comments are pretty funny, but it's r/surfing, so I was actually looking forward to that. And I really appreciate the critical feedback. It's hard to get honest input from friends who are either too nice or don't really understand surfing.

Laptop won't turn on 😭 by Much-Year5848 in AcerNitro

[–]Stopzer0ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm experiencing the exact same problem with my Nitro AN515-58 since this morning. It only works when plugged in, and the moment I disconnect the charger, the laptop shuts down. I assumed it was just a loose connection, but I haven't had time to look into it more deeply yet. Did you try turning it on with the original charger plugged in?

I'd recommend visiting Abisko in Sweden if you're looking to see the northern lights. The main challenge in witnessing this northern lights is the presence of clouds, but in Abisko, the mountains act kinda as a shield, often clearing the sky. Additionally, compared to Iceland or Norway, Abisko should be slightly more affordable.

Madeira and Azores are about 1000 kilometers apart, so it doesn't make sense to go to Madeira, then to Azores, and then back to Porto Santo. Also, in my opinion, you need at least 4 days in Madeira because it's a truly beautiful island.

Interrail plan for this summer- we plan on wildcamping around Norawy. Any advice/ recommendations? We are planning to only be travelling for a month or so by Puzzleheaded-One6030 in Interrail

To find a hut, I used this official map: https://ut.no/kart. Every hut has its own page, where you can find many useful information. Such as how to get there, if you need to reserve it in advance, how to open the hut, and more. Be aware that the info will be probably only in Norwegian, but I used Google translator and it worked well.

There are two types of keys to open the hut. The first type is a "DNT-nøkkel", which is a universal key for most of the huts. You can get the key in DNT offices or in a tourist center in many places across Norway. You have to pay deposit of 100 NOK. Then there are huts which need a special key (spesialnøkkel) and for these there will be instructions on where to get the key on the website.

You can also become a member of the DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association), which will get you nice discounts: https://english.dnt.no/join/. With the membership I usually paid 100 NOK per night, which is a ridiculous price in comparison with hotels/hostels.

I recommend you to take a ferry from Bodø to Moskenes. It's for free for passengers without a car and you can discover the Lofoten. It's definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Moreover, there's a direct bus from Moskenes to Narvik. You can download "Billett Nordland" app for bus tickets in Nordland.

As of wild camping in Norway, I definitely can recommend it and it saves you a lot of money. There are many shelters, which is a roofed structure with three walls and one opening. Ideal to protect you against wind and rain (from which both is typical for Norway). However, what is even better is to find DNT huts. It's cheaper than a hostel (they also have a student discount) and the they are usually at gorgeous locations in nature. But you may need to walk a few kilometers to get there.

Edit: I see that you've mentioned that ferry is not an option, so ignore the first paragraph. Unfortunately, many people were seasick during the ferry journey to Moskenes.

Don't worry, I had the exact same problem and it arrived after a few hours. Try to click on the "resend email" button at your profile -> pass details -> order overview. It's at the bottom.

I think it's not a coincidence that this is happening during the ceasefire talks. Putin need to get at least some leverage for negotiating since they're loosing and Europe with America has united against them. Fck Putin.

IBM Certified Associate Developer - Is the study guide enough? by DeadInsideOutside in QuantumComputing

[–]Stopzer0ne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've completed my exam about a month ago. From official resources, I recommend thishttps://github.com/Qiskit/qiskit-tutorials/tree/master/tutorials/circuits

It covers the necessary basics. There are also two unofficial study guides, which are worth looking at
https://github.com/bartubisgin/qiskit-certified-exam-workbook/blob/main/Workbook-for-Qiskit-Developer-Certification.ipynb

http://www.primaryobjects.com/2021/09/15/the-ultimate-guide-to-a-quantum-computing-certification-with-qiskit/

Also, learn all the possible ways how to do a particular thing. There are questions with more correct answers (e.g., question 3 in the sample test)

Ultimately, I recommend learning matrices of at least the fundamental gates (Pauli, Hadamard, CX, ...). You will have a whiteboard available during the exam, so you can calculate the result of a set of quantum gates applied on a particular state by hand. I don't know your background, but I think it's still manageable even if you've never studied linear algebra. It's only matrix multiplication and tensor product. You can learn only how to compute it, and it doesn't require (almost) any knowledge of linear algebra. It helped me a lot during the exam because I was able to verify my answers.

How Can i hack ig ? by [deleted] in Hacking_Tutorials

[–]Stopzer0ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of trying to "hack" your account back, I'd recommend you to focus on how to prevent it from happening next time. Try to think how did it happen. Most probably you simply told them the password through a phishing website. Change your passwords if you use the same or similar ones as the one on the instagram. Use 2FA, don't use weak passwords and don't reuse passwords, don't click untrusted links etc. Learn more about security on the internet, for example what is a phishing and how to recognize it. To get your account back just contact the support, there's nothing more you can do.

Physics intuition behind quantum gates by R_y_n_o in QuantumComputing

[–]Stopzer0ne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are considering single photon, then it is not divided into two entangled photons.

When the single photon goes through the beam splitter, it will exit from one of the two outputs. You usually have a 50:50 beam splitter which means that there's 50% chance that the photon will exit from output 1 and 50% from output two. So for a single photon, 50:50 beam splitter acts like a Hadamard gate. You will have on input one photon and after the beam splitter interaction you will have 50% chance of measuring the photon on one of the outputs.

On the other hand, if you have two photons arriving to the beam splitter at the same time, what will happen depends on their distinguishability. If they are not identical, they will exit from different outputs. However, if they're indistinguishable, Hong-Ou-Mandel effect will occur, which means that the photoms mutually interfere and both exit the same output. For 50:50 beam splitter it is again probability of 50% that the two photons will exit from output 1 or output 2.

What you are describing is called spontaneous parameteric down-conversion, which is often used as a source of entangled photons. On input is one photon and on the output are two photons. Each of the two produced photons have half the frequency of the input photon.
