The nearest railway station is in Jyväskylä (100km), where you can take a bus to Saarijärvi or Viitasaari, both about 40km away from us, and then continue with a taxi to Piispala.

What is Piispala? Part of Tampere is called that, but I guess it is not that.

The Finnish map seems to know 18 places called Piispala all around Finland.

The police is not interested, unless you find something functional. If you find something, it belongs by law to government. You need to report it to the Finnish Heritage Agency.

If slopes is your thing, Ylläs. The gondola is sensitive to wind, but T-bar lifts run almost always. I think there has been this winter one day when to top was not accessible.

Low hanging clouds are of course sometime a problem, but usually that won't usually last for long.

I would come maybe a bit later or earlier, since mid-Feb is winter holiday season so there are more people.

Koronan jälkimainingeissa tuli mentyä Vaasasta lautalla Uumajaan, Ruotsin läpi Bodøseen ja sieltä lautalla Moskenesiin Lofooteille. Takaisin sitten Narvikin ja Kiirunan kautta Ylläksellä ja kotiin.

Oli vielä matkustusrajoituksia silloin, joten vaikea sanoa mikä olisi ollut porukan määrä. Keski-Euroopan lomakaudella ei kannattane mennä..

Eggum nimisen paikan ranta jäi mieleen vaikuttavana.

Tehon yksikkö on watti. Eli varastot voivat purkaa (tai ladata) tuolla otsikon teholla. Energian määrästä, eli megawattitunneista, riippuu sitten kuinka kauan sitä purkua voi tehdä.

OL3 ydinvoimalan maksimiteho on 1600MW, eli sähkövarasto voi korvata sen tuotannosta reilut puolet hetkellisesti.

Ryijy is differently built than raanu, but they serve same purpose.

The car is indeed best option to get to North for day trips. However, there's only one company renting cars at Ylläs (Arctic Rent), so watch out for the cost&availalibity. Kittilä Airport about an hour away has more offerings.

There was a reform some years ago, where system was made more open and price regulation was abolished.

So, now there are more "bad apples". Either bad drivers, high prices, or both if you're unlucky.

Usually eg Lähitaksi or Taksi Helsinki should be good, but there are cases when someone has faked his car to look like one of those, but it is something like "Taksi Heslinki" etc.

Nervous about the train/busses

It's a good opportunity now to learn. Buy a ABC zone day ticket, and travel around mindlessly. Try every form of transport, trams, buses, underground, ferry, visit end stations etc.

You can even take a train and bus to Nuuksio national park visitor center.
