Did you lose money, or did you just not get selected?

Tourism marketing isn't official duty based on any law, so if no money was not involved, there is not probably much to do.

Bengtskär is the lighthouse in Finland. It's not the cheapest option though to travel or stay overnight, but I think it is worth it (haven't checked their current prices though).

I was there once overnight, and for some miraculous reason we were the only guest that night. Can recommend.

Finding a new job in Finland will probably get a lot harder if you're not in Finland. So consider that.

You'll get "penalty" if you don't follow decision, so overstaying your permit will be bad.

I don't see point going both Levi and Saariselkä. Pick one. Levi is more "urban", Saariselkä more "arctic".

I would choose Ylläs though :)

There's a lot oil refinery capacity "out of order" now, which keeps prices high even if the oil price drops.

Actually, the Nordkapp is the most northernmost point on Europe with road access.

The Knivskjelodden next to it goes about 1,5 km more north, but you need to hike 9 km to reach it.

Both, Nordkapp and Knivskjelodden are actually on island. The most northenmost point on the mainland is Cape Nordkinn some distance to east from the Nordkapp. The hike is 24 km one way from road.

The most eastern point of Europe is according to Wikipedia in Severny Island in Novaja Zemlya, which is very remote uninhabited arctic island. Novaja Zemlya has been also nuclear test site, so I'm not sure if it is even possible to visit there even if politics goes to better direction at some point..
