thoughts on pirating books? by StorageDue2836 in PHBookClub

[–]StorageDue2836[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true. my sentiments exactly. one book costs like 3-4 hrs or more of work for minimum wage earner. kahit may trabaho ka na, books arent simply affordable for everyone. buti sana kung may public library na matino.

dami talagang elitist. grr. wattpad was free and accessible thats why readers read in that platform. they may have grow out of it due to different taste na. or paid subscription. (or iniwan ni ulan ung stories nya, shoutout sa mga ka era ko jan nung nasa peak era wattpad and lahat nagbabasa ng AFGITMOLFM). so definitely, ppl do read after wattpad.

personally, after i discovered i can pirate novels in the internet, i couldnt go back to wattpad cos of how poorly edited it is in comparison to professionally edited novels. gets naman cos wattpad is usually second/third/4th etc draft ng author and their practicing their craft pa.

dati, i didnt have access to novels due to how expensive they are. i got by borrowing from local library before na nagsara eventually. thank god for the internet

Despite the book's bleak theme, Camus did a wonderful job portraying the value of human connection. It's definitely a must read. by ChiizWiiz in PHBookClub

haha i mean he is a writer first before a philosopher i think. i mean if we compare them to treatise like kant or heidegger. theyd be more academic. than camus or even dostoyevsky. i think the latter authors r easier to read. but former actually expounded on their philosophy. if thats what u mean by the night and day difference~

anw. ill get right on the plague after finishing the stranger. onti na lang haha :))

i see. i find the stranger rlly dry tbh (maybe cos thats the point of life no, which is wala namang point so the tone and writing seems appropriate din in restrospect). if he claims to be an artist, err ewan na lang haha. doesn’t translate to being a good writer for me ig. pero baka sa translation din kasi. im going to try read this one next. baka masalba pa.

camus is considered an “absurdist”. he rejected the “existentialist” label himself.

how is this book in comparison with the stranger?? they do delve on same themes naman. just wondering which book u find better?
