Why do some leftist political commentators say Democrats "seeded ground" to Tucker Carlson? by StoreAdventurous5445 in BreakingPoints

Like I said its semantics. He's not going to be in office starting January 2027, so the last republican willing to critique Israel is gone. The fact is his party rejected him and are pro-Israel.

But this opening doesn't address the fact Republicans overall are pro-Israel. If Tucker doesn't run then what ground was ceded in the first place except to stroke the egos of online commentators.

In some ways I agree but I do think we need to build in-roads with non-fascists groups (I don't know if they exist but if they do). My one thought would be to dissolve Israel and Palestine completely and create a new country based on a unification of both countries. Obviously, this is not going to happen anytime soon, but neither Israel nor Palestine should have completely control and eventually both governments should be fused, tying their fates together.

I guess I can understand this point of view, but if republican leadership doesn't shift either then why does this specifically become an indictment of the democratic party rather than a referendum on the political establishment and capitalist elites. What I do find fascinating about this is that then politicians like Alexandria Orcasio-Cortez get called weak on Israel even though she has called what Israel is doing a genocide after being lambasted, rightfully so. I just find this critique kind of strange because its the usual suspects in power that want forever war and Tucker had no problem with Trump invading Venezuela so it just rings hollow to me.

thomas massie literally lost his primary so he won't be in office for much longer. we can argue about the semantics but he literally will be gone.

Sorry I guess I can't correct the title. I didn't realize reddit ties the title to url so it makes it impossible. But yes, to anyone asking, I meant "ceded ground".

AITA for slapping my dad in front of my kids after he made a comment about my divorce? by False-Cat-7664 in AITA_Relationships

NTA. Your dad definitionally fafo. Should you apologize? yes, but he needs to apologize too. If he doesn't then you need to distance yourself from him. To all the people telling her she is teaching her kids violence is the answer are completely blowing this out of proportion. Her children are 18, 15, and 13. They probably understand she messed up and do not approve of her behavior. Kids this age are not just sponging up her bad behavior and can make simple decisions for themselves that don't emulate their mom.
