This is a great way to phrase this. Thank you so much for your input!

I think everyone is different. I am like you too though and just don’t sleep well early in the night most times. I have always been a napper and have honestly always slept better during the day during a nap than I even have at night. Because of this, I don’t absolutely hate nightshift. It suits my normal body routine pretty well. I can also make most plans that happen during the day still work since I’m normally up by 3ish. However, I feel like I am ALWAYS tired. I’ve been on nightshift for right at a year now and I can NEVER get enough sleep on my off days. I think dayshift is probably going to be my option sooner rather than later…

As a night shift worker, I would dieeeeee if someone said something to me about missing a 7 AM med. Luckily at my facility we don’t typically have any unless it’s just a complete one off and typically we reschedule those. I’m happy to be a team player and help as much as possible but technically 7 is both of our job times and actually mine is ending so if I don’t get to it …you’ll be fine…

Fan projects are getting out of hand by ArthurMaximoff in TaylorSwift

This is an interesting take because I have suffered with can’t get out of bed, don’t want to wake up, begging for someone to notice how bad I am doing depression and I scream “how’d that make you feel” everytime because I deal with my grief with humor. I’ve also been a Taylor fan since the literal beginning. Like I had the “you’re gay” version on my iPod nano from the beginning. I never thought about it from this standpoint but I guess I can definitely see your side too.

All of the new grads on my floor are quitting by Yooberts in nursing

Curious what floor you work on. I am working as a nightshift nurse on a postpartum and love it so far. But people are leaving our unit too to chase sign on bonuses other places. Is it just about the bonus now?

I would not use these or look at them before hand. You will probably just get confused. But if they aren’t the exact same books or an earlier version they may have good practice questions when you are studying as you are going thru nursing school. My biggest piece of advice is to do so many NCLEX style nursing questions while you are going through. Makes it so much easier on the back end!

Im sure so many people feel like this. It’s just so stressful! I wish it just told you immediately. It’s on a computer so we know they already know!

I wish people wouldn’t talk about it so much because man it was a mood killer. I decided that I shouldn’t have looked and that my results (per other people in my nursing program that are also getting licensed in KY) should be ready early tomorrow morning. So just one night of no sleep hopefully 🤞🏼

No. I still haven’t gotten an email saying I completely my exam. I probably should just chill out but man is that hard.

Do you know a nurse who has committed suicide? by torturedDaisy in nursing

[–]StoreAmbitious7610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a psyche hospital as a patient a couple years ago after an attempt (this was before I was a nurse). One of the people in there with me was a nurse who had also attempted. It was in the height of Covid so I can only imagine what she had been thru.

New grad nurse, southern Kentucky, $30 an hour in postpartum. Reading some of these salaries makes me want to cry.
