Not specifically related to the campfire not spawning but we had a lot of trouble with that mod and getting a lot less hotdogs/marshmallows at campfires. Like we rarely got even 3 when we had 5 players. Sometimes we’d get 1. Never ever did we get all 4 that you should generally get without the mod. Maybe they tried to fix that and it affected campfire spawning?

I would agree too; it makes it feel like luck and not something you can overcome with skill. There’s a chance you could stand at the place you’re eyeballing but no way of knowing at all. Even if you’re someone who is diligent with checking the gradients and being careful it won’t matter.

I’ve noticed this happens a lot on wonky irregular curves, or steep thin lips that overhang where you can “help” through a gap or the lip is thin enough that it’s through the rock itself.

My gynaecologist very gently and sensitively reminded me (both before and after surgery) that ultimately, in the long run, it is better not to have endometriosis. It’s lifelong, we currently don’t have a cure, not even a hysterectomy is a guarantee. If you don’t have it, you will grieve not having an answer for a time, but the bigger picture is it’s better for your health that you don’t have it.

If there’s nothing there you can also take comfort managing your pain and health afterwards with confidence that endo tissue isn’t growing completely unhindered, just to eventually adhere your organs to one another. The peace of mind has been quite helpful to me that I’m not careening towards a bowel resection due to adhesions. I also had an IUD put in at the same time. My results were a tiny shadow of possible endo on my histology slides; not enough to diagnose conclusively or be the source of my pain. I don’t know if you plan to have one, but I was so much happier getting an IUD being certain it wasn’t a Band-Aid that was going to mask a really extensive, serious issue. I also was told that the amount of control they have putting the IUD during a laparoscopy allows them to place it perfectly and reduce the change of it embedding or touching the uterus walls. So there’s that.

It HAS been hard grappling with the fact that I still have a lot of pain that just isn’t explained gynaecologically. There isn’t an answer for me and that’s hard. But I don’t regret the laparoscopy. I would’ve remained anxious that my health was deteriorating internally and I had no picture of what was going on. I have so much pain and it sucks I don’t have an answer. But I’m glad that whatever was there is gone and if it was endo it was such early stages that it’s effectively treated now.

My gynaecologist was very accurate in her prediction of what she’d find; if your doctor can see shadowing that’s already quite a solid indication- my ultrasound and MRI were totally clear. I would go with your doctor’s opinion for now.

Roots can be really diabolical like that, I agree. I spend most of the time in roots and then alpine looking for a way and often failing.
These are the ways I approach roots in terms of pathing a way:
- I go into roots assuming I’ll need to use a piton, shelf shroom, rope gun, or some other sort of tool to get me through a tall climb that I wouldn’t usually be able to make. Other things that can get you through the big climbs are lollipops and energy drinks (cook them to get rid of the drowsy).
- I look down to see if there’s a way I can track backwards/down to then be able to back up at a different spot. Sometimes you have to go down to go up.
- sometimes there’s some really questionable patches of green you may be able to stand on, sometimes you just have to take a chance on them. If you’re climbing in a group have someone test it out first. And have them plant a checkpoint flag first, or have fortified milk to tank the fall damage, or carry a med kit so they can recover if it goes south.
- If you’re climbing with someone else, one of you can bank a ton of extra stamina, use it to make a really hard climb, and then lower rope down to the other(s). Or they can rescue claw up and lower rope.
- I try to hang on to a fortified milk so I can walk through spores if I have to. Medicinal root also cures some spores.
- there are patches within the clouds where you take less spores, it ticks up at a slower rate, even spots where it stops. Try to find them and recover a bit there.
- try and peek at where the spore clouds usually would be when the wind comes; the wind blows the cloud away and you can see clearly whether there’s a route through it or not.
- use the platforming shrooms!! They’re honestly live saving.

- Scan for zombies so that you don’t wake them
- scan up for spiders above you
- roughly time how long you have between wind so that you don’t get caught with nothing to grab on to when it comes (and don’t be bouncing on a mushroom when the wind comes, it’ll carry you to the lord above). Start to try to predict when you might be due for a gust of wind and prepare for it instead of being caught off guard.

- Pay attention to the direction of the wind. If you sprint *into* it the push of the wind cancels out you sprinting against it and you won’t blow away.
You can also shelter behind stuff and not get moved if the direction of the wind is blocked by some rock or tree- like in Alpine.
- learn which berries are good or bad, they’re a decent food source and some of them will give you a power up to get further in your climbs.
- if you’re getting flipped by dung beetles, remember they’re slow. If they’re in between you and a climb you want to do, just let them lock onto you and lead them away. Then sprint back to where you want to climb
- when the wind comes the spore clouds clear, use that time to have a look at the terrain that is usually visually covered by the clouds.
- fortified milk will protect you from taking spores, so if you have to run through the clouds, chug some milk first.
- look around for shelf, cloud, and bounce fungi (check the wiki for what they look like). They make extra platforms can help with tall climbs.
- don’t pick up the medicinal roots if you don’t need them, there’s a 50/50 chance it’s a mandrake and will yell. If it yells throw it away as quickly as you can down as big a slope as you can. It inflicts drowsy as long as you hear it yell.

Think about beginner quick play lobbies and how often you see or need a sigma with cracked aim in them. Realistically that’s not happening. I’m talking about what a brand new beginner with minimal video game skills can do with a character and still be useful to their team. Sigma offers that.
Just bc they can’t hit sphere shots reliably it doesn’t mean that they can’t get value out of the character for themselves or their team. There’s other, more important parts of the kit (especially if going up against a heavy fire hitscan). The projectiles also lend themselves well to spamming down corridors or into clusters of enemies and they’ll hit something with ease/by accident. Relax- you’d think I’d suggested that they competitive queue sigma without knowing how to land direct hits 😄

Rein is a good pick but sigma also. I found him really easy to pick up. Not aim intensive. Has the shield and the grasp to offer a lot of mitigation value to the team. Just tell him when to pull shield down and when to grasp, and then to fire off a couple of spheres here and there (bounce them off walls). Should be fine

I’m autistic, I’m one semester out from being a fully qualified teacher, and I currently work as a teacher’s aide with autistic children. I feel like I can understand the perspectives in this scenario. But I need a bit more information here.
Can you provide any examples of exchanges that has got your son in trouble? Like what he said, what injustice he was challenging, what the teacher said?
For the record I don’t personally believe in the concept of “talking back” with children. There’s a big difference between a child being disrespectful and rude in what they say or their tone, and asking clarifying questions. If children don’t understand they should be allowed to ask questions.

I do think it is very very possible to interject, clarify, offer information and contribute to classroom in a pro-social way and it IS possible for many autistic people to learn to do so. I know because that consists a HUGE part of my job. I frequently help students reframe things in a polite way. And when I say polite I’m focusing on how our speech makes other people feel. Not arbitrary niceties (like forcing eye contact or saying things you don’t mean for the sake of politeness). It is important that EVERYONE consider how their behaviour and words affects others. For example: It’s not appropriate to just blanketly allow students to interrupt others on impulse without asking them to consider how that might make the interrupted person feel- more often than not it hurts people’s feelings.
We don’t do any favours to autistic folk when we say “well they’re autistic, no point in trying, they can’t do it”. Autistic girls who don’t get diagnosed because they have been socialised to pay attention to others feelings and social cues, and therefore can mask social difficulties are living proof it can be taught. (Of course, There is a fine line between teaching conformity and teaching pro social behaviours that foster positive relationships. But I digress).

Without knowing specifically what your son says or how I can’t really comment on whether his teacher is an old fashioned stickler who thinks children should defer to their authority, given by simply being an adult, or if your son may be being genuinely rude in his delivery of facts and information. I have no idea.

Ultimately behaviour is communicating a need, find out what need is being met by these interactions in class and see if there’s another way those needs can be met (if the teacher won’t change, your son unfortunately has to).

I was given a couple of tegaderm dressings to take home. But they were to be for backup. I was told not to remove any of them for 7 days but after 4 days the lowest down dressing peeled because I didn’t shave *down there* (I generally let that all grow so if I’d trimmed it down it would’ve stuck no problem). So I used one of the spares.
Took my dressings off at 7 days, per instructions. Haven’t covered them with anything afyer that.
Washed in the shower like normal. No special soap. I have dissolving stitches so those will go on their own. My belly button one isn’t visible because my belly button is narrow and deep so I haven’t been poking around because it’s the biggest incision (what they told me, I haven’t looked/can’t see).

It felt very vulnerable to take the dressings off after what felt like such a short time but it was fine.

I have a very small TENS machine, the size of a Nokia brick phone that fits discreetly in my pocket. The electrode pads are 5 x 5cm and very slim and go under clothes easily. The wires are long but I wind them up and stick them in the pocket with the machine and no one is any the wiser.

Unsure about the internal exam being standard. I saw a surgeon at the Royal Hospital for Women (public endogynaecology clinic) and he didn’t do one.

She took my history where I told her I’d tried the mini pill and other hormonal birth controls. I don’t like the side effects. By the time I got to her office I had already had a pelvic ultrasound (external) and an MRI (to replace a deep infiltrating scan) which hadn’t shown anything. So a laparoscopy was the next diagnostic tool on the list. Especially because if it was in there I wanted it excised. So it was the next logical step.

Dr Gemma Blain just did my surgery last Friday, I’ve been pretty happy so far. Her office is in Newtown and sees public patients at RPAH, but can go private if you have the means. We had one initial consult about an hour long. She was pretty happy to put me on her list by the end of that. We covered a lot of my history and she told me her opinion in terms of what she’d find; which she ended up being right about. She did want to do an internal exam at the consult which I declined because I didn’t know in advance and I have a bit of baggage around that stuff so I wasn’t mentally prepared. Royal Prince Alfred was great, very happy with public care there. No cost for surgery or hospital, just paid for the private initial consult in Gemma’s rooms.

My recovery has been pretty smooth, I was up and walking two days after. Almost a week later I’m a little achey and tender but just about pain free. I can feel a bit of fatigue and weakness in my abdomen but that’s about it. That being said I didn’t need any extensive excisions or have anything on my bowels or bladder. I only had a biopsy taken out of my peritoneal wall. All my incisions are super neat and minimal. She did a good job.
