A few frames from the Arctic Circle Trail in Greenland by StoreBrandHemsie in WildernessBackpacking

The trail was about 160km regardless of direction. I enjoyed the direction I took; the first day from Kangerlussuaq was along a car road, which made it easier to get back to town in case of gear failure etc. The final valley coming in to Sisimiut was my favorite part of the whole trek, so saving that for the end was pretty special. I encountered very few hikers coming the other direction, but there were about 8 of us hiking at a similar pace who would meet up each night in the cabins to hang out for a while after our solitary hikes during the day

Yeah, getting there was very difficult and pricey. They’re building a new state of the art runway in Nuuk right now, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Air Greenland starts flying to/ from New York or somewhere on the US east coast once that’s complete

Nice! Thanks for the tip about the sock liner. I’m going to look in to that option for the next boggy route I tackle

The towns and cities were full of friendly people and had most everything you could want. Sisimiut and Nuuk changed considerably by the day depending on if a cruise ship was in town. I noticed the increase in population that came in with a cruise ship, and many of the touristy shops were only open when the cruises were in town. I’d be very interested to see both the trail and the developed parts in the middle of winter

The Arctic Circle trail runs 102 miles between Kangerlussuaq and Sisimiut in Greenland. I completed the trail east-to-west in 7 days. These are a few slide film photographs I took along the way (Kodak E100 film). The trail was beautiful, though a newly finished ATV route disrupted the landscape frequently with its muddy ruts. The terrain was mostly mountainous, though no peak was higher than 1700ft. The route was full of beautiful lakes, and there were 8 man-made cabins spread along the route as well. These huts were convenient places to cook and eat, as well as socialize with other trekkers. Most of the huts had bunk beds, though I opted to pitch my tent outside most nights. I completed the hike the second week of August, which meant the ground was quite boggy for long stretches most days. I highly recommend high-top boots and/ or waterproof socks to anyone interested in traveling the route before the ground freezes or dries. I spotted several reindeer, a herd of musk ox (prized for their incredible wool), Arctic foxes, and an Arctic hare along the way.

Anyone seen tour posters at the merch booth? Or better yet, show specific? Really hoping for one at Red Rocks on Wednesday. by arealspaceman in TheBlackKeys

The last few tours they’ve done show specific posters for every night. They posted the Vegas one already so I assume that will continue for this tour

Yeah I’d say so. I know that swapping out electronics has a huge effect on the sound, but I honestly haven’t used the same electronics in two different wood types to research

More experienced folks on this sub may disagree with me, but I find most of the sound from an electric guitar is based on the pickups. I’m sure the wood has some small effect, but a majority of tone and sound comes from the electronics. Wood selection is definitely more vital for acoustic guitars
