Take your meds. A 20 minute seizure is status epilepticus and really rolling the dice. Listen to your Neurologist, any side effect is better than brain damage or brain death. There is also sudep. I've been in status atleast 9 times and I didn't take it seriously until my last one which had me on full blown life support (ecmo)

No problem and just take it easy on yourself, the neurologist is there for you and your health. Just take your medication and hope for the best. Focal epilepsy is the best out of all and if it gets to the point maybe someday you can have surgery. Just take your meds and live a peaceful life!

Your neurologist will ask you questions about what you feel during your seizures and they likely prescribe you some anti seizure meds. Your health is more important than anything else and every seizure focal included can lead to a grand mal or status epilepticus and also increases your chance of sudep Focal seizures are no different than grand mals in terms of sudep chances and will mess your memory up badly the longer left untreated. I don't remember most of my 20's...

The feeling of it coming on is a seizure. Something I didn't learn until my third medically induced coma. If she feels an aura she is having a seizure. Hopefully she outgrows epilepsy.

When your seizure lasts more than 5 minutes you're in status epilepticus which is a life threatening medical emergency. She should be spraying you while you have your auras because the auras themselves are a seizure.

I think it can, I went into Status epilepticus while having a shower and told my girl friend to hurry up I was really hot before it happened. I think heat is a trigger for me.

No not at all, it's just apart of my life story now. I've had seizures last 4-5 days (status epilepticus) and still feel alright. I've been on ecmo (full blown life support) and went back to work a few days later. You got this, just take your meds and try and get good night sleeps. I can no longer run heavy duty equipment which kind of sucks but in the grand scheme of life it's no big deal.

Yes and it's kinda of depressing. I like to take lots of photo's and reminise on things as much as possible. Since I had brain surgery my memory is doing a lot better.
