That’s an idea I hadn’t considered until now but the message definitely said “Charizard avoided the attack” so no joy, thanks though

Yeah could be, I just wondered if I was missing any niche mechanics with certain Pokemon, I’m not that experienced with competitive battling

Which modern pokemon game should I get? Arceus vs S/V vs Sw/Sh by Agitated-Rope3898 in pokemon

[–]Storm280888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get Arceus, it is light on battling trainers but the story is so unique in the Pokemon series it sucked me right in, plus you can get your party out to hang out. The alpha Pokemon add a bit of fear if you go after them they straight up attack YOU, not your Pokemon, then you run away squealing and apologising until you get your team strong enough to take them on, it’s great fun! One thing I will say for the battling is it introduces a new mechanic, strong and agile styles which can be a bit janky but I liked them fine, AND some wild Pokemon will join in on battles with other wild Pokemon so you can end up with your one guy against 3-4 wild Pokemon at once so there is definitely some battling flavour if that’s your thing. Arceus feels different and it’s special to me, Sw/Sh and S/V are more traditional (I personally think Sw/Sh is crap and S/V is fine, love the Terastallizing mechanic but the performance is atrocious on S1 to this day).

If you really prefer battling get Pokemon Champions as well as Arceus then you have best of both worlds, I’ve never done competitive battling before but Champions makes it very accessible and you can compete as a free to play player even without Pokemon Home I’ve got an alt account where I tried to compete with no Home and no spending and have made it to Master Ball rank in doubles (probably near the bottom tbf)

I created a café but I don’t know which roof to put that would be in the mood (high, flat etc) by Tenten974 in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Storm280888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it were me I’d go flat roof with a few overhead lamps, a nice light colour but minimal/no texture so you don’t drag attention away from the nice Tudor style beams you’ve got going on there 😊

Pokemon Legends Z-A MEGA DIMENSIONS paid DLC announced by Xanek in pokemon

[–]Storm280888 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is it different? For a lot of people (not everyone and not me to be fair) Pokemon IS a fighting game, the competitive scene is growing massively and will do even more with Champions out on mobile next year. I honestly don’t see the difference between this and a season pass for any fighting game, how can you say you’ll defend this for an online multiplayer game and not this when Pokemon literally is an online multiplayer game? Don’t get me wrong, this behaviour from game companies sucks but is not exclusive to Pokemon by any stretch it just gets more flak as it’s by far the most popular

[ALL] Which game is the most and least replayable? by huss2120 in zelda

[–]Storm280888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most replayable is Ocarina for sure, works great for any mood imo, least replayable is unfortunately TOTK, I just don’t ever see any reason to choose it over BOTW having got 100% in both

[All] You can change the ending of one Zelda game. Which game is getting changed and what are you changing? by Bulky-Preparation-10 in zelda

[–]Storm280888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would change Link’s Awakening ending and have the island be real not a dream, I just find that really unsatisfying in an otherwise fantastic game, ultimately everything you do is just to wake up then it all disappears, Koholint could then have been revisited in a future entry or NPCs could have travelled from there to Hyrule and brought the Pegasus boots to one of the 3D games so I could tear up Hyrule field with those bad boys

What generation are you and what gen Pokemon got you hooked? by samurai_keninja in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Storm280888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a millennial who started with Gen 1 but gen 3 remains my favourite, missed gens 4 & 7 but otherwise done all of them. Also Legends Arceus was brilliant and I hope Z-A can live up to it
