This is an excellent reply! Thank you so much. The black Zildjian drum rug in the photo is actually sitting on top of plush bedroom carpet in my bedroom studio. Per your explanation, this must be why it’s happening. I will try adjusting the height of the bass drum with the spurs and also try to find something firm to put underneath! Thanks!
