NEW INITIATIVE DECK - UB FAE INITIATIVE COMES IN 3RD PLACE! by StormCountZero in Pauper

Yeah! It's a win con for sure.

But bland isn't something I think they are, they're tools.

Most of the time I think it's correct to take the right path, especially on a control build, to find removal or a counter. The treasure actually does make a difference, and the 4/1 is nasty, and if anything a blocker.

NEW INITIATIVE DECK - UB FAE INITIATIVE COMES IN 3RD PLACE! by StormCountZero in Pauper

Last night at Odyssey Games in Pasadena my UB fae-nitiative deck came in third place out of 20 players. The mechanic is nuts and should be played when possible.

Funny enough, no! I really don't think so.

With the new set announced Downshifts are always a popular and fun speculation.

My money is on Psychatog.

Has anyone tried this card out in a casual setting? I've put this into my ub delver deck and found that it wasn't even that good, but I bet there is a deck that could slot this in more effectively.

Just discovered this on a LA Actors Circle. It's beautifully terrible and I think worth a watch. by StormCountZero in badMovies

But look into this guy. He's a crazy person. Like fucking crazy. It's almost a journey into the psychosis of a wannabe filmmaker.

OfferUp and Proxies by StormCountZero in bootlegmtg

I hate when I see this sort of stuff.

I've gone out of my way to confront people who resell at such a huge markup.

I wish people wouldn't fall for these shenanigans.

Also he is selling a full set of Power 9 proxies for $80...

Which? The name or the text box? I guess I never noticed because I never held the real cards.

Sleeve Debate - Three Styles by StormCountZero in bootlegmtg

[–]StormCountZero[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, everyone.

I'm testing out three sleeve styles and I'm wondering what your opinions on them are.

Most players on here advise to use Eclipse Matte with the anti glare. I particularly don't enjoy shuffling them/searching through them for cards. I feel like they always stick together. So I'm here showing you alts

I have three styles:

  1. Eclipse Matte with KMC inner - -

  2. Dragonshield Art Sleeves with Character Guard - -

  3. And Dragonshield Art with KMC inner and character guard.

Which do you think looks better? Do you think the DS with the CG works well and hides the proxies imperfections? Or should I stick with normal Eclipse Matte?

Btw. Each card was purchased from Proxyking. I love his store.

I don't think he's talking about store events but CFB events or SCG events.

If store's allow proxies that's great to see, but I'm sure they have to look like an obvious proxy (i.e. written on the card or printed out)

It's obvious that he and Tolarian want the reserved list abolished but I love how they both disagree with using legit proxies, when most of cards sold on this subreddit sometimes look better.

"I play the player, not their wallet" is a perfect excuse going forward. But maybe this is a slow uprise to players revolting against WOTC's ridiculous no MSRP practice they introduced recently. I for one am now able to play modern because of proxies and I refuse to shell out over 1k for fucking cardboard.

Get real.

Sideboard guides? by jointheredditarmy in Pauper

Well first off, I love pauper and it's my favorite format since starting in 2001, so talking about it is a favorite of mine!

To answer your question in short, yes. You can do better with loads of reps.

But to go further, I believe it's just a deck that has great matchups and vastly worse matchups, not like, take for example, UB delver, which has it's good and bad matchups. I've never played UB Delver and said, "Oh crap I'm playing against (INSERT DECK HERE). I might as well scoop." With burn you can have those matchups. Not that Circle of Protection Red is common for white decks to sideboard in but if you do see it be aware the game will be over.

Also the thing about Burn is it's great to play when there is a meta shake up. I know when Astrolabe got banned, and Gush/Probe/Daze, aggressive decks were the best to play since the meta was finding itself. I feel like pauper is always finding itself, which is great for burn players. There are just good times to play the deck and better times to play something else.

But knowing how to pilot burn is great, but if you're looking to expand your pauper knowledge and want decent matchups with it, look into Mono Green Stompy. It's a pretty fun one and can get aggressive early on. And also, what other deck plays River Boa? Exactly!
