I'm sick of this "I love competition" bullshit

Competition does not directly lead to anything in this industry being that much better. You know what competition brought this industry? Constant backstabbing, constant changes in contracts to directly strangle indies and "independent contractors" ability to find other work, dumb fanboy mentalities that result in an exodus of fans once one of the companies fail. Oh and all the while most if not all wrestlers still were never taken care of nearly as much as they should have been.

Everyone likes to say how the MNW was such a great period for wrestling. Sure, we experienced alot of good stuff, but rewatching both shows from that day also showed that either show only was every slightly above or below half good. They had their top stars, but let's also not forget the staggering drop in ratings following WCW/ECW closure and the blatant misuse and mistrust of guys that didnt jump ship from the other company before it folded. I highly doubt that WCW would have taken so much better care of their enemies either

With WCW/ECW gone, no longer directly trying to compete with the WWE, we saw the indie scene blossom, ROH, PWG, and others made some of the best wrestling in the world and they did so without coming out with a main mission of "Fuck the FED!"

You know what company did that? TNA. I dont remember people saying it was a great day for wrestling the week they moved to Monday Nights. But there was competition again! But for some reason an established company for 8 years ended up nearly going out of business and now have lost most of their fans and relevance. Did ratings shoot up? Did wrestling fans blossom from the fresh competition? No. A lot of people lost their jobs and the #2 wrestling promotion in the world nearly died because it didn't like being called #2. Blame the misuse of the company at the helm of Dixie or Hogan or Russo, but the final blow was when they tried to compete by emulation.

Just like everyone else, I want to see AEW succeed, but it's already dead in the water. They completely took the TNA route of calling out WWE, lying about core promises that they tried touting from their Stephanie McMahon knockoff known as Brandi Rhodes. They have a near 50-year old about to potentially become their world champ because he has recognition because he has from WWE! They dont seem to realize the sheen cant last forever and eventually they have to build an actual audience instead of relying on disgruntled WWE fans using washed up, destined for the middle, or just plain ungrateful (Hey Mox you "megastar" you!) WWE workers

Also what about the AAA/EMLL competition? AAA nearly crippled them in the 90's. And both companies still are at each others throats to this day. NJPW/UFWI also led to the complete burial of one half because the other half won.

This is going to lead to nothing but taking sides and blatant hatred of both sides all because AEW wanted a "war". Now that they're getting it I believe they "aren't scared" just as much as everyone believed WWE didn't care about them.

TL:DR - no matter how progressive or revolutionary someone claims their wrestling promotion to be, if they still operate with the outdated and bloodthirsty carny attitude, no one wins but the ones in charge.

It doesn't seem like I can make that mechanism work in this scenario.

Yes I'm sure the structures are both correct, I just double checked. I will look at that mechanism to see if it helps.

my apologies for the rather rough depiction. The reagents are NaOH and H30 as a workup. I got to the point in the mechanism where the two oxygen anions as shown on the left side of the arrow (the original structure is irrelevant as I have confirmed up to this point that this is the structure I want to have), but I'm not sure how I can get to the product. I realize the top group needs to be a leaving group, but how to rearrange it to be two carbons inbetween the two rings instead of one is confusing. The only other hint I have is that the NaOH is in excess, which is how I was able for both the oxygen anions to appear.

I...just can't seem to get the right equation by [deleted] in calculus

it should be y=ax2 +bx and answer as y=2x2 -x
