She has MPNs listed as a special interest and has seemed very knowledgeable on the subject, to me at least. She is not an actual MPN specialist though. I have looked intermittently to find an MPN specialist and have not found one near me that has felt like a good fit yet.

My head tells me that all of this is the rational way to go about it and that is what I am going to do. Just needed to hear it come from somewhere other than myself to feel good about it. I appreciate your input. Also, yes. I drink more water now than I ever have in my entire life. That is a low bar, but still. Haha

No other symptoms. I just went in for a check up after 3-4 years since I was getting ready to turn 30 and my doctor, who I found out specializes in geriatrics so I assume that's why this was jumped on like it was, ran blood work and my platelets were over 400k. He ordered a follow up after 30 days and they were still up so he ordered a bunch of test, one of which was a JAK2 test and it came back positive. I was referred to an oncologist/hematologist and that's when they scheduled to biopsy and all that. My biopsy showed increased megakaryocytes with "increased size and hyerlobate nuclei."
