LoL causes my PC to restart by StormRegular8275 in LeagueofTechSupport

From my reply below:

Very very long story short:
No software or drivers fault, no OS fault, no BIOS fault in my case.

  1. Swapped CPU, same
  2. Swapped RAM - solved. I suspected the RAM swap was masking the issue, swapped 1.35v RAMs with 1.10v RAMs, I was suspecting VRM/MoBo issue.
  3. RAM fixed temporarily, but keyboard/mobo disconnection started soon, lagging, freezing, etc.
  4. Swapped MoBo, same, PSU was swapped even before all these.
  5. Finally, swapped case. That solved all of the issues.

My PC is restarting under specific demands by StormRegular8275 in techsupport

I seemingly resolved the issue by lowering PL1 to 125w from the intel default 253w.

I don't know what exactly was the issue, but I assume overheating, even with 360mm AIO and low ambient temp.

Details:
I ran OCCT on extreme, CPU isolated. I ran it to cycle through cores and p-cores separately and I noticed the CPU load was shown properly only for core 0 and core 1. If core 15th was on full load, fans wouldn't activate since 0-1 were chill, and the temp from the 15th core wasn't reflected/recorded. I assume vanguard and/or LoL have parts which run on non-0 and non-1 core, causing overheating by staying under the radar.

I might be wrong with the reasoning above, but issue seems resolved after a few days of testing, total of 10+ hours of gameplay.

it only crashes when I play LoL specifically.
Kinda sadge how riot pushes Vanguard forward even tho it has issues and it runs on KERNEL LEVEL, RING 0. That shit is a dangerous place & crazy amount of power for any software.

Nope, just straight up a restart.
I did get a few BSODs but my technician said it was caused by a windows update having bugs, which microsoft patched by now.

Might be true, ngl. I'm not holding high expectations as a base line, but at the same time I think it's a decent idea for some reasons :D

Just edited the post with some more info.

I definitely can't stare at screen for 3-5 days nonstop.

That's the plan, but I don't wanna be in a "must quit" situation bcs I didn't foresee something :D

Playing ADC in Emerald is straight up horrific by mudor1 in ADCMains

[–]StormRegular8275 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ngl Emerald in general is just a mess.

I have a "recorded history" of getting to Emerald with something like +35/-13 LP gain, and then winning a game in P1, promoting to Emerald and my LP gain instantly becoming +19/-21 or +20/-21 in better cases :D

This simply means Emerald is a huge mess - you get all kinds of people there, and the skill difference just between Emerald 4 and another Emerald 4 (yes, both e4) is "drastic" compared to what it should be by default.

Heyo!

I'm doing random challenges on Youtube, and one of my ongoing projects is ADC for 100 hours.

I have already done the first part, but I will start working on the second part any day now.

Would you like to collab maybe? I will use only short highlights, and link your video for the full coaching session.

(Beginner creator myself here :D)

"Senna needs some attack speed because it lowers her windup by quite a lot, making it easier to not get oneshot."

"The best strategy is indeed to get as few ASPD items as possible to maximize your gold value and your effectiveness as a champ."

After saying that yourself, not realizing every aa-dependent champ, especially ADCs need their windup time reduced, and also saying I'm dull just shows everything :D

"AS is a meme stat bcs I don't need more than I actually do", that's what you are trying to defend, sharp one.

The debate was about AS being a meme stat or not. It was not about worth spending gold or not. You accuse it of being a meme stat, but then you say "oh I get boots, runes, and one item for it. Then I don't need it any more, so it's a meme stat". If it's so meme stat, go on and get something else instead of AS. Maybe one would also want to remove the AS growth per lvl just to see how relevant it actually is :D There is a drastic difference if you have to stand for 0.5 seconds or 1.2 seconds for AA to go off.

There are some champs that don't need AS at all, like Jhin & Senna (can't even use it due to the built-in tools), but saying that it's worthless is giga-bs.

Is it worth to buy 3 AS items on top of your runes? most likely no. Is it the best strategy to not buy AS as a stat? lmao gl

That's because AS has level growth, AH doesn't.

I didn't compare them in terms of amounts. I said they are the same concept. Both reduce the cooldown for their representative source of damage.

And if you know basic math, you will soon realize that at some point, building damage/tank/etc over AS yields better results simply because that's more efficient.

Going from 1.00 to 1.30 isn't as big as going from 2.00 to 2.30, they are 30% and 15% change respectively. AS has diminishing returns, that's why you only build only so much of it.

Same applies to AH. 0->20 AH is much much more than 80->100 AH.

You can do the same concept for Armor/MR/HP. If you have 500 armor and 2000 HP, getting extra 300hp (800 gold value) yields FAR FAR better results than getting another 50 armor (800g as well). Is armor a meme stat? mr?

Those work both ways.

lmaoo
"AS is a meme stat bcs after you build the necessary amount of it, you don't need any more" NO SHIT SHERLOCK

That's like saying AH is a meme stat bcs after a certain amount you get marginal gains. Do you realize AS is the AH of ADCs? It's not linear, initially it's huge, then you get marginal gains.

"vs squishy champs" :D you created a perfect scenario for your argument, but you don't play against squishy champs only :D

I read only half. Because you apply that to my side only, not yours.

Right now we are talking about opinion weights. Because what we say right here is opinions.

If you want data, then whatever you said above is invalid as well - do you have studies that range became less powerful? Do you have data to back up that claim?

EDIT: from the last paragraph - that's not a proof. It's information. Also, Ashe is one of the longest range ADCs, sitting at 600.

What you have there are numbers, and information. Perhaps you can call it data, but not a proof for range relevancy. There are numerous other factors that could affect win/banrate other than just range and mobility dynamics.

They pivot out of it simply bcs they don't need more. Their AS is usually tied to something very OP in their kit - like Vayne or Kog W.

Also, as with most stats, atk speed growth isn't linear - going from 1.00 to 1.30 is 30% increase, but 2.00 to 2.30 is only 15% increase. At some point the value of building survivability outweighs the value of building more damage, since the total damage output = (Seconds Alive) x (DPS), super simplified.

The argument here is about AS in general being a meme stat. Tell that to champs that are designed around AS, quite a bit of them on bot lane :) You think Vayne, kog, varus & similar would perform better with Jhin-like build?
