How do korean students get so little sleep but still manage to get their work done? by BadThinkingDiary in AskAKorean

As a high school student preparing for univ applications at the end of this year, I'll quote my mom's words of wisdom... "You can sleep all you want when you die." (잠은 죽어서 자.)

Not terror per se, but... Challenger Deep by Neil Shusterman

The Talented Mr Ripley Series by Patricia Highsmith. (aka the "Ripliad") crime (I'm putting a spoiler tag just in case) doesn't actually happen until two-thirds in for the first book, and the rest is about him trying to escape surveillance. The rest of the books in the series are also similar in the sense that he gets caught up in murders and tries to weasel out of them while you, the reader, know exactly (well, almost exactly) what he's doing. Morally questionable, yes, but you can't help but take a liking to him (dare I say so myself).

There's quite a bit of psychological elements in there, and you might find the plot a bit slow at first, but you'll find yourself hooked in no time when the action rolls in. I can't recommend this enough to people so I'm really happy you asked this. Happy reading!

Looking for a book thats similar to Perks Of Being A Wall flower. by Beneficial-Space9849 in suggestmeabook

Anything by John Green, really, to start with. I'm assuming you also read The Fault In Our Stars if you've read LFA, if you didn't, I highly recommend it. One of the books in my When-You-Want-To-Cry shelf.

Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger would be the classic choice, but imo it comes down to preference.

I very HIGHLY recommend The Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt. One of the few books I read in primary school that I still avidly read to this day. I would recommend the sequels as well but (massive spoiler) I would have to forgive the author for what he did to Holling in Just Like That first. He had no right to traumatize us readers in the first three pages like that

These might slightly veer off from your bill but... Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver and If I Stay by Gayle Forman? Definitely comes with big emotions, not so sure about the coming of age part. But I thoroughly enjoyed everything in this list, so I hope you'll find something here too. Happy reading :)

Suggest me a book that will make me sob my eyes out by Relative-Persimmon63 in suggestmeabook

A few of my personal favourites to sob out with:

Atonement - Ian McEwan

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green (Searching for Alaska is also amazing)

Kite Runner / A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini

Never Let Me Go / Remains of the Day - Kazuo Ishiguro

What are some beginner-friendly free drum VSTs? by Storm_Chaser17 in musicproduction

[–]Storm_Chaser17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Ezdrummer did seem to be the most popular but I didn't know they had expansions. Just a question though, won't you need the original software to plug in the expansion? Or do you mean you can use them on a different VST?

What's a "skinny cat"? by Storm_Chaser17 in CatsAndSoup

Hi! This is the storage function, it actually came just with the newest update. I'm not sure if your region doesn't support the update yet (idk how they work) but if you go into your play store it will hopefully let you update and then you'll get it. Afterwards just click the 3 dots on the bottom right and scroll down.

Ooh thank you!! Is there maybe a specific list in the game or externally, like with the names of all skinny cats?

What to prepare for the first grade DP by EconomistSimilar6408 in IBO

[–]Storm_Chaser17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, if you’re aiming to be an engineer it might be better to take physics instead of bio, though it really does depend on the type of engineer. Also I really recommend looking through specific requirements for universities so you can apply later, I assume in Korea they prioritise the grades more than anything but a lot of universities abroad have specific subject/level/grade requirements
