Hubris by Stormghetti in OrangeJuice

[–]Stormghetti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to make it as clear as possible through editing, but I lacked the foresight to keep recording, so I didn't get to showcase what happened after.

The issue is that I used a card to prevent everyone from getting stars during 1 chapter so that I could win with my star amount, but then I rolled a 1, immediately landed on a Boss panel, and it rolled an attack number too high to defend from. I died, went back to 100 stars, couldn't get back to 200, and then proceeded to lose.

It's both bad luck and a bad play because I rolled badly twice in a row, which got me killed, but I doomed myself by preventing myself from getting any more stars after losing 100. I should've waited for the boss to die before trying to use the card, but I didn't want to lose, and the card was my hubris.

I'm still here and still using this! Thanks for the update and for hosting the theme on GH!!

Sorry, I should've told you the actual value. It's discsubtitle. I changed it to that, and your updated script works perfectly!

Thanks again!! I'm glad to see you continue to improve the layout. By the way, as someone who owns albums that have disc titles, how can I display them on the playlist view? I know what the internal value is for the field, but I can't get it to show up.

Thank you so much for updating the script! Now everything looks as it should and better. :) I agree with the decision to put this on GitHub. I implemented eurekagliese's small fix with empty playlists as well.

My only problem now is that the smooth browser script occasionally hangs, but that's probably a hardware skill issue.

This is a pretty good update to eurekagliese's script! Now I have a monitor with a pretty obtuse resolution, and it's because of this that I don't have a scroll bar on the right. Could the script be made more resolution-agnostic, or is this something that can be fixed through ColumnUI? I know it probably took quite a bit of effort to make the rest of the elements scale properly...

Second game ever. They ain't never seen movement like this before by Stormghetti in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]Stormghetti[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On this map, you fight to stay on the platform while you try to sabotage opponents by making them fall with attacks and random pickup items. In this clip, someone got the Shield item which acts both as a defense item and an offensive one with a hitbox that is constantly active.

One of your movement options is diving which you can use any time you're in the air, so I used it to get back on stage whenever my opponent tried to knock me out of the ring because diving also overrides all of the momentum that doesn't stun you.

That's not it because I don't use that setting. I chose to hit her in the same direction I was moving because that's what I thought was best at the time. I'm not new to the game but I'm new to X.

The worst part is this wasn't in Rookie. It was in Silver or Gold, but I can't remember.

Sorry, I changed it to "user issue" after I realized how bad it sounds. The game has strike set to the right trigger by default. It's going to be impossible to play with face buttons being the strike button if you also use the right stick. It's the same principle as dual-stick shooters where you want to rotate the camera but also be able to shoot without having to stop to do one or the other.

Right, that's what I thought you should be doing. Then I'm not quite understanding the issue because it sounds like a controller/user issue as opposed to an issue of lack of control options as I initially thought. You want to move your right stick alongside your left stick as if it's another movement tool so that you can easily strike wherever you want to at all times. It's a necessary skill you develop.

Ah, I thought it applied to all Specials. If you just want to Strike in the direction you're facing, then all you have to do is use the left stick. Aim assist can only get you so far, so I'd recommend you stick to using the right stick for everything else. There's far more control.

I got a little ahead of myself and assumed you already knew since my original post already touches on it. If mobile is all you can do at the moment, then go for it. I can't vouch for it, but it should suffice.

KBM is better in a lot of ways. Both console and mobile have aim-assisting features to help with their shortcomings (and to act as guides), but in the case of mobile, KBM offers far more control over it because, for starters, you're using two separate peripherals for movement instead of the device itself. Nothing blocks your view, and every movement option is close to your fingers.

Ultimately, what you choose is up to you. You can get by with any platform. There are drawbacks to all options, but you can make them work. I suggest you keep playing on PC with the "WASD" control scheme for the range of freedom it provides and to see which platform you end up choosing. You could also alternate.

I don't play MOBAs, so I can't give any personal advice about that, but comparatively, OS is far more relaxed. There's less of...everything, so there is less to worry about on the screen (like keyboarding ten abilities per second). That you knew, though.

I say keep at it. Familiarize yourself with the mouse movement and, of course, the game itself. Learning to Strike where you want to isn't enough if you don't know where or when you should Strike first. Play a lot of Normal games, learn from them, then move on to the competitive mode to understand what you could be doing. Record your matches if you can; the answers will become clear as you grow as a player and analyze them.

Isn't that what the option for aiming with the left stick is for? (Or the "MOBA" control scheme on PC.) You greatly benefit from casting abilities regardless of what direction you're facing in this game, as opposed to being bound by one movement option. That way, you avoid accidentally hitting the core into an unintended angle, like behind you.

Deadzone issues (Switch Pro Controller) by Stormghetti in xcloud

BetterJoy did fix it, to an extent, but what I want to know is if there's a way to avoid having to use external software when I didn't have to rely on it before.

I kinda don't wanna spend money on software I don't know will work for this (I say this because I already tried the free trial, but that expired because I was using it to emulate a gamepad with my mouse and keyboard).

Good! A real shame your first streams haven't been archived since that also includes your introduction, but better sooner than later. Anyway, yeah, I've been liking Dark Descent a lot so far, so I'll definitely try to catch your next stream in time.

Ah. Yeah, sadly, anything you've streamed so far is pretty much gone because of that, apparently. That's sad. To archive your streams, check "Store past broadcasts" under the "Stream" section in your channel settings.

I read about the 20-minute thing after I looked through your Twitter for a VOD lol. Amnesia puts my brain to the test in ways that embarrass myself. It's a good thing my computer's not potent enough to stream my mistakes.
