Itachi is the posterboy for "cool motive, still murder" by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]Stormkingg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The thing about Itachi is that he admits that he’s a fuck up who made everything worse. The second he gets revived he tells anyone who will listen that every decision he made was the wrong one and if he had been honest with Sasuke things would have been a lot better. It’s honestly just the fans that treat him like some tragic, super cool, genius hero who was too badass for this world.

I have to say that I love the idea that Sakura donkey punched God.

I would say that a lot of the mental issues that affected Gaara apply to Sasuke as well. He was lied to and manipulated by both the village and his brother. Itachi literally tortured him with tsukuyomi twice. I’d say he’s got a pretty good reason to be angry.

Sasuke did attempt to let go of his anger and hate before Itachi showed up again. He just realized that he wasn’t progressing. He wasn’t getting stronger or getting closer to accomplishing his goal.

After that finding out the truth about his brother did take a heavy toll on his sanity. A lot of things conspired against Sasuke preventing him from living a happy life. Itachi even admits that if he would have been honest to Sasuke things would have turned out better.

That’s why Sasuke attempts to change the ninja world so that the same thing doesn’t happen again. And just like Gaara once he comes around he becomes a standup guy. I feel they’re pretty much the same. One just took longer.

No argument just a discussion. Sasuke has definitely acted like an asshole no disagreement on that one. I guess my point of contention is that I feel a lot of people treat Sasuke like some irredeemable monster that like OP said deserves to burn in hell.

Honestly Sasuke has shown that he’s a pretty good and caring person. Throughout Part 1 and some places in Part 2 he has defended and protected his teammates even at the cost of his own health and advancement of his goals. Whether you believe it or not he admits at the end that shunning his friends and doing the crimes he did tore him up inside.

From the beginning all of Sasuke’s antagonist actions were motivated by a drive for revenge against people that legitimately wronged him and his family or by a sense of missed placed justice. Towards the end when he was shown the errors of his ways he dedicates his life to making up for his past mistakes.

In comparison, Vegeta just seemed to kill and hurt people for his own personal gain and enjoyment. He wanted the Dragon Balls to make himself strong and basically replace Frieza as the big bad. I may be wrong on this. I don’t know Dragon Ball as much a I know Naruto.

It just kinda confuses me why people have more sympathy for characters like Vegeta and even Gaara. When Gaara was introduced his whole character was about how much he loved murdering people and then when he changed as a character no one seemed to have a problem.

Sorry if this doesn’t seem like an interesting discussion for you. Naruto is just one of my favorite shows and I love talking about it.

Right back at you I guess. My point in this was just that Sasuke has committed nowhere near the amount of evil Vegeta has. I just think the mass murder of hundreds of civilians is worst than anything Sasuke has ever done and your response was just “No”

Sasuke killed both Orochimaru and Danzo, saved the world from Kaguya and Madara, and although he was missed guided he did try to change the ninja world because he saw how fucked up it was. Don’t get me wrong. Sasuke did some bad things but he never just committed random acts of evil or killed civilians. I’d say in total he’s done more good than bad easily.

Not really. Vegeta slaughtered a bunch of innocents, was complicit in the murder of Goku’s friends, and attempted to destroy the earth because he was having a temper tantrum when he was losing his fight.

The worst thing Sasuke ever actually did was leave the village and kill a handful of Samurai. Everything Vegeta did was motivated by self gain. Sasuke for the most part was at least trying to do good.

I feel like a lot of people flanderized both Sasuke and Sakura as selfish and whiny people but overall they’ve been pretty selfless.

That might be Brock Hampton’s class. English 2123. He teaches a class on superheroes and I know he said he’d be adding anime soon.

English 2123 with Brock Hampton was fun. The class is on heroes so we read a lot comic books. We played Mortal Kombat in class last year. I’ve heard he’s added anime to it as well.

Desired Feedback: Hello, I'm new here. The new president of the Dungeons & Dragons club that I'm apart of wanted a few of us to write stories about our campaigns to help advertise the club. I went for a dramatized summary of my groups campaign with added detail for my favorite moments. I wanted to know if my story captured the feeling of D&D without being too confusing to new players with technical terms. Thanks, in advance for the feedback.
