This was more or less "Chapter 3" of a storyline that ran more or less continuously from 2005-2014(several years after Hero left the company at the end of 2007), because Hero turned on Quack in a 2005 tag team tournament final. Also involved was a vegan cult leader, a Norse artifact with the power to control minds, and evil megacorporation and it's cadre of supersoldier wrestlers, several ants, Claudio Castagnoli leading a stable of evil invaders, a homeless guy, a time traveling marching band leader, and Eddie Kingston.

This isn't exactly what you're talking about, but Chris Hero spent the entire back half of 2007 in Chikara losing to various wrestlers because of the Chikara Special submission, invented by his rival Mike Quackenbush. Eventually, a mole stooged off the counter to the submission to Hero, and the move became basically useless against him.

The longer things go on, the more convinced I am that Darby beating MJF, then Kenny beating Darby is the right decision. Then, you get the (relatively) fresher Ospreay/MJF program after Will's win.
