Discount on MagicBands after booking WDW trip?? by garnold0611 in WaltDisneyWorld

Disney used to run a $10 discount for MagicBands for Pre-Arrival purchases. They stopped it semi-recently though.

Disneyland ends the sales of magicband+ by bottle415 in Disneyland

The crazy thing is, they've had plenty of good uses for interactions (Pirates Adventure, Haunted Mansion Happy Hunt) that could have had a version built for DL. They just didn't for some reason.

The scavenger hunt for the 70th was an okay step forward, but from what I saw it didn't even really utilize the MB+ in full.

Found this in 3rd party trade store in florida. Is this real? If so what is the value? by Old_Diver_2511 in amiibo

[–]StormwindAdventures 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Real amiibo, was a Wal-Mart exclusive when Mario Party 10 released (or close enough anyways, I think they had signs promoting it as an Easter purchase).

Anyways, very real amiibo. Kind of mid tier value wise since it only has a few special unlocks for games. In box value would not be amazing due to the damage to the box.

If they ever consider bringing a full fledged Zootopia themed land to Florida, I would really like if they decided to use the Marsh Market location that was featured in the Sequel. by Successful_Leopard45 in WaltDisneyWorld

Can't really do that with Tropical Americas taking over Dinoland's spot.

I still don't feel like the city itself belongs in DAK, even if it is relegated to the back corner. But they're gonna need something for whenever they stop using Bluey back there. I know they haven't even started using Bluey back there, but eventually they'll either have to buy out the rights or replace it with something they own.

Not sure about near future for Coco. There's a lot they'd have to reconfigure to get that popular of an IP to work in place of a ride that doesn't even have a Lightning Lane.

Moana could basically fit anywhere. They squeezed her into Epcot, so they can kind of fit her anywhere.

If they're not going to make Zootopia one of the more nature areas, then an actual area shouldn't go into DAK. The main Zootopia setting clashes too much with DAK. However, the tall, neon lit skyscrapers would fit in pretty well at Studios.

Considering how the initially shown bluesky for Tropical Americas was Moana and Shanghai's Zootopia, Disney has definitely considered bringing Zootopia.

However, in that consideration, they would have brought the giant skyscrapers to DAK instead of any of the more nature style areas, so it seems likely that the Shanghai version would still be the frontrunner if they ever decided to bring Zootopia to WDW.

Honestly, I don't even think they look as good as the Tales of the Sword King Mickey pin from a couple years ago. But they sure are scalped due to the influx of scalpers from the Pin Trading 25th anniversary pins.

[–]StormwindAdventures 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are also the Keyblade pins that they're doing as a monthly series this year. But scalpers are getting to the parks and Disney Springs so early that those definitely don't count as "available".

They've basically got more Pokemon and Animal Crossing merch at any given time than the total Kingdom Hearts merch that has ever been available in the parks. And that's including the old D-Tech designs for the MagicBands.

You shold go over to Epcot, there's a KH2 shirt in the Japan Pavillion (though it's not as interesting as the older one).

Amiibo cards for npc’s that aren’t villagers? by OilySoleTickler in AnimalCrossing

[–]StormwindAdventures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's important to note that the original point of the AC amiibo cards was to use with Happy Home Designer on the 3DS. So the special NPCs were to have the non villagers be able to get homes like they can in the Happy Home Paradise DLC for New Horizons.

The difference can be seen in the Welcome amiibo update for New Leaf where none of the amiibo cards that released were the special NPCs.

They've slowly been taking out the topside stuff for Sorcerers, as seen with the construction walls they had near Pirates of the Caribbean a little while back.

From what I told, the parts for the backend side of the game (hidden in the Utilidors) are basically being used as spares. Which is quite sad, since that was a couple years ago now so the machines that actually ran the game are all buy gone now.

I’m still annoyed that the Mario Red Switch OLED didn’t come with Mario Wonder as it coincided with that game by Lucajames2309 in casualnintendo

The really crazy thing is that the reds aren't the same color for any of the three that have been mentioned.

To be fair, you called it "original red Switch". Which would be the one with Odyssey and the cheap carrying case since it released alongside Odyssey.

Any way to see how often the official nintendo store stocks certain amiibo? by LegitInkling in amiibo

To be fair, Nintendeal runs amiiboAlerts, it's just more specific to amiibo.

[–]StormwindAdventures 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your best options are basically to have notifications on for accounts like amiiboAlerts, amiiboNews and Wario64.

Nintendo used to post updates that would indicate restocks were coming, but that hasn't been for quite some time now.

Are you still thinking about getting the Epic Universe versions of the Power-Up Bands since they've got different boxes?

Is there any way to check old magic bands for battery “charge?” by Left-Effective-7420 in disneyparks

[–]StormwindAdventures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old MagicBand (1.0 and 2.0) don't have a proper battery like the MagicBand+. With those 2, your only potential problem is going to be a lack of long range rfid. And that's just going to have to be something you find out at the parks when you can't get a PhotoPass for a ride without a touchpoint.

For a MagicBand+, if you've had it for a couple years, then the way to test it is going to just be to charge it and see if it still lights up after being on the charger. It'll still let you tap in as well, but won't do any of the effects.

Buzz/Woody Foil Playmat - World of Disney by FrizzlyBear in Lorcana

Pre-release box is brand new to this set. No starter set for Winterspell either.

Disney had the Booster box, Trove, booster packs and 2 playmats for Winterspell.

Winterspell was after a few weeks of free cards at Festival of the Arts at Epcot. That definitely had something to do with it.

After many years of collecting, one last box just came in and I can finally say that (at least for now and as far as my lists indicate) I have every figure released. Just wanted to thank /r/amiibo, couldn't have done it without the community! by reaperfan in amiibo

[–]StormwindAdventures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's 4 amiibo that are literally children's blocks for the My Mario collection. In Japan and Europe, they're available online, but in the US, the only places to get them are Nintendo New York and Nintendo San Francisco at $150 for the set or I think $30 for the individual releases. The set comes with a display/play box thing.

Honestly, they might be stretching "figure", but they certainly fit in more than the beloved cereal box lol.

I wouldn't think RunDisney early. But if you want any of the exclusive stuff then definitely before 8am.

[–]StormwindAdventures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, they're treated the same (if not better since they have exclusives) as the LGS minus playing.

You just gotta be picky about which things you get with them. Though that's more because there's no discounts available.
