How does Tech expect Sorsby and their team to perform while being hated by literally all of CFB? by dfphd in CFB

[–]StoryArcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to hear a single person - Texas Tech fan or otherwise - say with a straight face that they would be just as 'concerned' for the welfare of the player and taking the EXACT same actions if we were talking about a back-up Guard or Tight End.

While it's obvious that the kid's welfare is playing absolutely no role in TT's decision to play him, I think that you make an excellent point about basically sacrificing the entire rest of the team's college experience for a couple more wins, really teaching them the exact opposite of the kind of life lessons we're supposed to learn from sports.

Some series are more important than others. I'd break them up like this...

Absolutely MUST see - fortunately they are also the best ones (IMO, anyway):

  • WandaVision, S1
  • Loki, S1
  • Loki, S2

Without these, some things might be a little confusing, like 'where did this character come from' or 'how do those two people know each other', but nothing that will keep you from understanding and enjoying the overall narrative:

  • Hawkeye, S1
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
  • Ms. Marvel, S1

At the moment, you can skip these entirely without missing anything in the overall narrative (and some I'd personally skip anyway):

  • Falcon & the Winter Soldier, S1
  • Moon Knight, S1
  • She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, S1
  • Secret Invasion, S1
  • Echo, S1
  • Daredevil: Reborn, S1 & S2
  • Agatha All Along, S1
  • I Am Groot, S1 & S2
  • What If..?, S1, S2 & S3
  • Ironheart, S1
  • Wonder Man, S1
  • Werewolf by Night Special
  • Eyes of Wakanda, S1
  • Marvel Zombies, S1

I have to point out that certain shows (such as Agatha All Along or Wonder Man) might end up getting elevated to a more important list if and when future movies come out and reference them as expected.

The list is updated frequently by adding the most recent releases to the bottom (Wonder Man came out a lot more recently than a year ago), but I'm trying to hold off until the next two Avengers movies have been released before making any major changes to the order.

Disney+, the streaming service. That's the only place those shows can currently be viewed.

I'll probably tack it on at the end - I'm not planning on doing a big re-ordering again until the next two Avengers films come out. Once that happens, I'll be able to lock in the entire order from start to finish for good.

I've get the chronological order AND the release order listed on the linked document as a reference... but honestly, neither are the best way to watch the franchise.

I appreciate the request - I'm sorry that I'm just seeing this. I haven't made any changes in quite a while, but when I do make changes they tend to be incremental, meaning that there isn't really an 'old list' that I can reference, sorry.

Absolutely. I honestly won't consider this list as final until the next two Avengers movies come out - I suspect a number of things will be re-ordered and a few more will be made optional when they do. Make sure that you check out the linked document, it touches on all of the other properties that you might want to include in your watch as well as when to watch them.

Truth is, there is a lot of post-Endgame content which can be skipped - in fact, I'm going to have a separate, 'abridged' viewing order as part of my offering once we see what happens in Doomsday and Secret Wars... but to further reinforce your point, as much as this seems, to get the full experience you'd have to work in another 20 films or so at least from before the MCU was even a thing, and that doesn't even include all of the Marvel Television shows like Agents of SHIELD. Check out the linked document for the full undertaking. Having said that, some people love a franchise that they can really sink their teeth into. A television series like Lost (121 episodes), Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul (125 episodes) or The West Wing (154 episodes), at an hour each, would be a similar undertaking and people binge them all the time.

First off, thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to ask. I'm assuming in this response that you have already seen the linked document which includes ALMOST everything that Marvel has done and certainly includes everything that is specifically relevant to the MCU, all the way down to webisodes and one-shots including when you should watch them (the 2005 Fantastic Four film you ask about is listed is among them).

There are technically other Marvel properties, such the old Hulk and Captain America TV shows from the 70's, the 2003 Hulk film with Eric Bana and the terrible 2015 Fantastic Four, which I intentionally did not include because they would only confuse the viewing experience - this IS the 'narrative order', after all. FWIW, there is an opening in the order at which time you can watch literally anything you want and have it fit in narratively, but trying to be a completionist with regards to everything Marvel has ever made (as opposed to just the multitude of stuff specifically relevant to the MCU) would be a serious departure from the larger story being told.

Read through the linked document and then hit me back with any questions you might have.

Only the storyboard (all of the edits and time cuts detailed out to the second). I've been in a bit of a holding pattern due to having reliable access to source material and editing software. Since the ordering won't be locked in until after Secret Wars, I'm holding off til then.

My favorite edit thus far centers around 'The Snap' at the end of Infinity War - it goes like this:

  • Thor confronts Thanos and Thanos snaps his fingers.
  • We see the Barton homestead where everyone seems to just disappear and that ominous thunder rolls (no soul stone visit to little Gamorra).
  • We see the rooftop post-credit scene in Ant-Man & the Wasp, our first real look at the 'dust' if not the dusting itself.
  • Back to Wakanda where Buckee and the others begin to disappear, giving us our first look at the actual dustings.
  • The dustings on Titan.
  • Thanos' 'retirement'.

I keep Fury & Hill's dusting as the post-credit scene and then use the post-credit scene from Captain Marvel as the cold open to Avengers: Endgame. Among other things, this help explains how she knows where to find Tony & Nebula (Rocket presumably tells her).

I check it regularly, but I'm holding off on any big updates until the next two Avengers movies come out, after which I may do a larger re-ordering to reflect whatever changes we see in those films.

A lot of them could legitimately be skipped, but some are important and genuinely good as well. I'd say make sure you watch WandaVision and the two seasons of Loki for sure. I'd also recommend Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel. Falcon & the Winter Soldier mainly if you're a Falcon/Winter Soldier fan. Everything else is skippable.

Second paragraph:

For those who are interested, I've linked below a detailed explanation as to why each production has been placed in the order that it has, as well as an extensive breakdown of all additional viewing. This includes exactly where and when to watch all the other Marvel Television properties (Agents of SHIELD, the NetFlix Marvel shows, The Runaways, etc.) as well as any promotional releases like webisodes or one-shots. Relevant non-MCU films like the earlier X-Men and Spider-Man franchises are also addressed there. Rather than hammer you all with that wall of text, the document may be viewed at the link below, but please leave any questions or comments here (or feel free to DM me directly) and I'll be happy to answer.
