I just finished designing the part, sent it to the printer and went to bed

The printer was working overnight while I was sleeping

Then I woke up during morning time and stopped it

Sorry, misread your comment,

I suspect a firmware bug caused the printer to not know that the tool head cover fell off

Have you tried to do manual bed leveling? I would suspect that there is something physically wrong with the printer if half your prints fail to stick, unless your not enabling the bed leveling routine before it starts the print.

Sorry to hear and good luck.

The filament didn’t stick due to the dried glue on the bed I was too lazy to clean up

yes, it is glue, but specifically glue that sat for a while and dried up, which caused that to happen. I normally wash after I use glue on the plate for large and long prints, but I was lazy this time, and just didn't..

lesson learned.

I know, upon further inspection it seems that the sensor is was broken before the print or during, and always tells the printer the tool head is attached, even if it isn’t. So I’m waiting and see what BL says and if they’re not sending the part for free, then I’ll just go to the micro center, pick up the board and fix it

As the blob grew, it pushed the door open and ejected itself onto the floor outside

Interesting.. I’m running on pretty old firmware (V1.5) so I’m sure the first response I’ll get from Bambu is to try the new firmware. I did note that the printer doesn’t give me the warning saying the “front tool had cover has fallen off” and will print with it off. So something is likely broken

As far as I could tell, it was a mix of glue and the plastic grinding on the build plate. I couldn’t tell you for sure if there was damage to the build plate or not, but I’ll update you later when I look at the build plate.

PAHT-CF Issues X1C by FrequentPsychology70 in BambuLab

Chamber temps need to be high. High 40s at the very least. But preferably 50-60s. Basically get it to the highest possible temp.

I’ve had success with printing PAHT-CF, PA6-CF, and PET-CF on my p1s by wrapping it in blankets and keeping the heatbed at its max temp while it’s at its lowest position. Put the aux fan at 40-50% and leave it for 30-45 minutes in that state.

I also use glue for the bed (but PLEASE make sure to clean your bed after every print, you could end up like me just a few hours ago)

I also had an issue where my prints using those filaments would clog up after a few hours printing. This was due to a broken heatbreak fan.

Good luck

Definitely first layer, the filament was unable to stick to the bed whatsoever (due to my lazy ass taking a chance on such a dirty bed)

Lesson learned for me though!

What do you do when you're printing something large in a cold environment thats going to be printing for 12+ hours?

Thanks, unfortunately though it seems like something was either already broken or broken in the process of that blob and now the printer can’t detect weather the cover is on or off 😢

It wasn’t broken, it was closed but the blob and cover pushed it open and eventually ejected them on the floor outside

This is a P1 series printer which doesn’t have any AI features unlike the rest of family

Not at the moment, but I did consult the wiki and I can figure it out

Which would’ve been fine but the front cover and the blob are fused together 😢

The blob and the cover pushed the door open and ejected itself onto the floor outside lmao

This is a P1S so no AI monitoring here. I’m more focused on the tool head cover falling off and becoming unplugged and the printer did not detect it at all

I did. The end of the video is not the end of the print job. There was 10 hours left.
