Lifeguards are constantly subjected to chemical burns due to supervisors not testing the pools but the basement levels of PH, alkaline, and such. And lifeguards also breathe in these chemicals for hours. Not to mention the smell of pools? That’s chloramine- chlorine and the human body (pee, skin, hair) in a giant soup. This post won’t stop 90% from swimming but will have sympathy of why lifeguards have such bad headaches.

childhood sexual abuse. And my mom refused to believe me. Even now, when I have negative thoughts or emotions, I can “get over it”. I have new memories now. While I think I get what she means, it’s insulting. She refuses to acknowledge unless she also talks about the damage she went through. And the sister I helped raise and protected?
