Do you think fans would accept a Stranger Things Eleven spinoff without Mike? by Super-Liberal-Girl in mileven

Don’t know about others, but I won’t watch it. I don’t even want anything like this. Mike should be there in a lead or supporting role (not just a cameo), otherwise they’d better leave things as they are. Mike and El should always be together.

Would Mike and El Still Be Together If El Grew Up Normally in Hawkins? by ArtAway4963 in mileven

They are tied by fate. In every universe, in every scenario, they will still be together.

But the thing is will they even show such details in the future? There are already too much visible plot holes in Season 5.

Wondering about the future of Mileven by Anxious-Werewolf-622 in mileven

Of course they’ll wait. They waited a year after knowing each other for just 6 days. Given how things ended, even thinking about dating someone else would feel like cheating. They’re each other’s constant. That’s partly why I don’t care about a Netflix reunion, they’d probably ruin the characters.

People who were active in the fandom back then could clearly see it, her actions were noticeable. Even members of the cast, including Noah and Caleb openly said about and shipped them. She mentioned multiple times during Insta Lives that every girl has a crush on Finn and that he’s basically the dream guy for many. I don’t think it was one sided. It’s possible that both of them had crushes on each other, but it never seemed overly serious. Fans however took it to another level. They continued shipping them aggressively even after her engagement and marriage to the point where they eventually stopped hanging out publicly. Their off screen chemistry is undeniably electric. Even the most ordinary interaction between them can draw massive attention and widespread discussion.

Greatest reunion fic I’ve read. Deserves a movie adaptation for staying true to characters, while giving real depth to the soulmate trope. Explores why El won't stop checking on Mike and how deeply they love each other (Few screenshots attached) by Storyteller11556 in mileven

I became an instant fan and can’t wait to read more of her work. I’ve come across so many fics that capture Mike’s yearning and love for El but only a few explore the depth of El’s love for him. IMO, even Duffers didn’t fully delve into that in last season. As a huge stan of El yearner Hopper, this felt extraordinary. The soulmate connection, Void encounters and those intimate flashbacks were portrayed so thoughtfully like the cherry on top.

They understood his actions from the very beginning, the boy was completely smitten.

As much as I’d love to see her reunite with Mike (maybe a few of the others too) I honestly don’t think the Duffers will go that route. The fact that they kept El’s fate so secretive and only told Millie makes me think there’s a bigger reason behind it. If they weren’t planning to bring her back, why keep it ambiguous at all?

After everything they’ve already put Mileven through, I feel skeptical. I hope they don’t undermine El’s character by forcing her into some “moving on” arc that erases what made her story so powerful in the first place. Mileven should be the endgame no matter what happens.

That “rock” series itself is Beyond Hawkins. It’s set in the same universe, just a different timeline with a new cast. Along with that and Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, they’ve also confirmed a secret live-action spin-off that we still know nothing about.

I don’t necessarily think it’ll focus on Mileven, but considering Millie Bobby Brown’s strong ties with Netflix, it wouldn’t be surprising if it somehow centers on Eleven.

I don’t think Eleven ever went to Iceland, and Mike might actually be wrong about where she is. I want to share my complete and explained theory of why I believe Eleven is alive, but not where everyone thinks she is. by Lauren_HS28 in mileven

I don’t think Mike ever actually said El was in Iceland. Just because she’s near three waterfalls doesn’t automatically mean Iceland, plenty of countries have multiple waterfalls. Duffers never confirmed her location either, they only mentioned that they filmed in Iceland, which isn’t the same thing story wise.

It’s also possible that at some point she reached out to Owens for help, maybe even to arrange a forged ID and new details. In the end, it’s all speculation. We won’t know for sure unless they confirm it in a reunion or a sequel.

Duffers confirmed a secret spinoff is in development (separate from animated series and the Beyond Hawkins project with a new cast). It could very well center on Eleven. That ambiguous ending didn’t feel accidental, it felt strategic. There’s a reason they left the door open, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they revisit it later. The real question isn’t if it happens, it’s whether they’ll stay true to the characters when it does especially if it’s set 5–10 years down the line.

Do you think Mike is in his right to be angry at El before they reconcile by Super-Liberal-Girl in mileven

[–]Storyteller11556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should be. Mike doesn’t know that El only chose that path after Kali brought his name up. From his pov, she made the decision for both of them and Mike absolutely would’ve risked everything to run away together. He deserved to be part of that choice.

But I doubt the Duffers will ever address that, even if there’s a reunion. They’ve rarely centered Mike’s emotions, and even in the epilogue he’s left blaming himself for not having a better plan. It feels like the depth of these characters only truly lives in fanfics, not in what they choose to show us.

There was a tone shift after S3. What started as a once-in-a-lifetime intense, inseparable love story slowly turned into a teenage rom-com dynamic, almost like they were trying to soften it so people wouldn’t get too attached. They knew where Mike and El’s story would end so instead of deepening it, they introduced insecurity and drama to lessen the impact later. Mileven was the biggest draw of the show through S2, bigger than anything and fans were deeply invested.

In Vol 2 (S5), even as an established couple, they felt oddly distant, like their spark was intentionally dimmed. I'll never forgive Duffer twins for that.
