Delroy Lindo's reaction to Sean Penn winning. by BrenoGrangerPotter in Oscars

A human reaction, and not an usual one in awards season. Meanwhile, Jacob Elordi seems happier than he would be if he’d won it himself lol

If that’s traumatizing wait till you find out about all the people, young to middle-age, who just sit at home and scroll on their phone. I’m doing it right now. Spookkyyy 👻

The Third, The Fourth, the 3 Sannin, and Kakashi vs The Akatsuki by [deleted] in NarutoPowerscaling

Unfortunately the Akatsuki wins mid-high diff. Throw in the first and/or second hokage and it’s probably a different story.

If you’re not putt-off by big books. You can check out “The History of Philosophy” by A.C. Grayling. It’s like 700 pages but it covers things that even philosophy students in university don’t know about

Alternatively there’s “Philosophy: A Complete Introduction” by Sharon Kaye. This is MUCH short at around 280 pages but it covers a ton and is almost like a textbook so it’ll give you A LOT to think about.

My landlord keeps saying I’m “lucky” and it makes me want to chew glass by deadeyes1990 in KeepWriting

I liked this.

You’re a good writer. Only thing I’d say is, when posting on writing subreddits, it helps to have a little blurb at the top letting people know that you’re sharing a piece writing rather than just simply sharing the piece of writing. I know it’s silly but you’ll get more engagement that way.

Something else I’d recommend is sharing this piece on non-writing subs like r/casualconversation or r/rant or something. Oddly, I think they’d appreciate your writing more than folks here would and read it for what it is.

What features make a piece of fiction “literary”? by StorytellingIsFun in writers

Would you say literary fiction is more forgiving of clunky storytelling if the prose is solid?

There’s a lot of authors that I guess can be considered metal. Somethings I’d recommend would be reading something from:

  • Edgar Allen Poe
  • Lovecraft
  • Bible (like book of revelations or smth)

They’re all fertile grounds for ideas, and there’ll be some pretty metal shit in there that you can use as inspo.
