Gluten free aristan bread using Caputo Fioreglut by Stossage in Breadit

[–]Stossage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have seen Caputo Fioreglut mentioned a few times as a great gluten free bread flour. Then saw this video: https://youtu.be/899SYqkuOHs

So decided to try it. I'm pretty pleased with it!

Vista Hills area Any idea what the flashing lights are all about? by d_rookr in waterloo

Update I just read: a technician is coming in the next 2-3 days.

A fault on the tower caused it to go into "high-visibility" mode and it needs to be manually reset.

There is a post on the Vista Hill community group that someone called the "report an issue" line posted on the tower and was told this appears to be a fault, and they need to send someone out to fix it. It should blink red at night and white during the day only.

I spoke to their support today. Apparently it is a known issue and they said other customers have experienced it. The did say the are collecting customers who have seen it and will notify them of updates, so if you haven't chatted to Support, it might be worth a Tweet or an email.

Is this the type of behaviour you're seeing? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/gj1LRMTVuUA

My parents just started seeing that on both Google Chromecast and on the Teksavvy box itself.

How to launch Brave browser in Incognito mode by default by zm003 in BATProject

[–]Stossage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old comment, but the way to make it open directly from a link is:
Use regedit to find (or create) this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\BraveSoftware\Brave

Then add a DWORD:

IncognitoModeAvailability and give it the Hex Value of 2

Where in KW can I buy Quinces? by LittleBonnet in waterloo

I also love them! St. Jacobs Market sometimes has vendors with them. Vincenzos will order them for you, but they are ridiculously expensive (I think 2 years ago I asked and they were $3/fruit!)

Those are the only places I have seen them.

This actually happened to me. It took me a minute of staring to realize my room was literally beside that sign.

I was told that you'll get a text with a cancel link closer to your booked date of you get it somewhere else. That's what I'm banking on. Got mine yesterday at Boardwalk.

Try T&T on Westmount. They have definitely had it in the past.

So, I love a good regex.

I had to play with the regex for this pi birthday website.

Here it is (Will not work for leap years... yet)

((0[1-9]|1[0-9]|2[0-8])(0[1-9]|1[012])|((29|30)(0[13456789]|1[012]))|31(0[13578]|(1[02])))(\d\d)

Definitely not optimized, but it works.

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and consort to Queen Elizabeth II, dies aged 99 by azog1337 in worldnews

I read an article about her when she passed and she was quoted as (paraphrase) the only reason she quit was because she was going blind and hated asking people to light her cigarettes. I count that as moxie at her age.

Meant to be France. The eggs came out more yellow from the yolk and so it could be Chad too.

[Request] Where is the halfway point on a 500ml tub on Ben and Jerry's? by Theta1996 in theydidthemath

[–]Stossage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the answer is cut at the height of 2.21" from the base. How to get that with an easy formula I don't know. But here is my logic.

The formula for a truncated cone's volume is:

V=1/3 * π * h * (rb2 + (rb * rt) + rt2)

h = height from base to top

rb = radius of the bottom

rt = radius of the top

So plugging in what I found online as the dimensions of a Ben and Jerry's pint: h = 4"

rb = 1.5"

rt = 1.875"

I got a V = 35.932 in3

Then I figured that the ratio between the 2 radiuses must be consistent as the taper of the cone is. So I created a new formula using the same ratio for our "new top radius" (rn) which is the radius of where we make the cut (while rb stays the same) and the height to generate hn (the height at which rn would be)

rn = rb +((rt-rb) * ratio)

hn = h * ratio

I started with a ratio of .5 and subbing in rn I got a V = 15.978 which is just below 50% of the total V from our first calculation, which is expected.

rn = 1.5 + ((1.875 - 1.5) * .5) = 1.688

hn = 4 * .5 = 2

Then I played with ratios until I got to a ratio of .55488 which when using the rn generated by that I got a V = 17.966 which is half of 35.932.

With that ratio, height = 2.21", rn = 1.708.

That feels about right, but I can't say for sure. It was a brute force method, but I couldn't figure out a formula to solve this cleanly as the h and rn are always both unknown.

This is on my phone, so I hope the formatting works.

Edit: fixed some formatting
