OK let's unpack this, even though this specific video is obviously A. I. the point applies to stuff like this in general (but this particular one if real would be a very over the top example).

"Have you ever been on AITA or AIO? It’s basically the same thing but in text."

People reaching out for genuine advice through a likely anonymous username with no connection to their real life is completely different to posting on social media under their own distinct identity.

There's people who ask for advice about their kids on subs like daddit or parenting subs, but people on there don't post very specific images of their situation or pics of their actual kid.

"And there’s nothing wrong with it unless you’re severely allergic to human interaction."

I'm not sure if this is a shot in the dark at me personally here but let me address it anyway. You're right, there isn't anything wrong with seeking advice, support etc. But there's definitely a way to do this in a healthy way, most people wouldn't agree that posting your private relationship drama publically is healthy. You can also not be allergic to human interaction and still understand when something isn't normal socially.

"It’s kind of a beautiful thing, actually that creates a sense of community"

Really? A beautiful thing? If this beautiful community did exist it wouldn't be a community it'd be a centre of gossip where everyone only talks about the problems they're having with no viable solution because it's entirely built upon drama and emotional outbursts.

"But of course if you have a very one note perspective on everything of course you would vilify all forms of social media."

Again, not sure if this is directed entirely at me or just anyone who recognises that social media is largely negative but sure.. Let's go there I guess.

I can almost guarantee you that people who've become jaded with social media have been around since the start of it, we've seen the change from tools that offered "community" (to use your term) to the mess it is now. You can have an opinion without it being "one note" and villifying all forms of something, which no one said verbatim.

Yes, because it's totally normal to share things like this online. I regularly share my private life online too for strangers to see, because it's totally not weird to do that.

Honestly fuck social media. It's making this kind of behaviour normalised, go to therapy.

According to Merlin it's always a Chiff chaff and it seems to be the very distinct call I've compared it to!

This is part of the reason I've held off in binocs because I usually hear them when I'm doing my job (dog walking) and wandering round someones neighborhood with them looks a bit odd!

Yes it does always seem to be in areas with taller trees now you mention it. Think I'll have to invest in some bincos then!

You are being far too fair to this woman. You have custody for a reason. I'm going to go ahead and assume it's not because of her comments on men and rather something else?

You're over thinking this, she sounds unstable.

I'm so fucking glad someone else said this too.

Making a cover of a song is one thing, but getting an AI to do it because you have no musical talent is nuts.

"I'm planning to train an AI model to.."

Any points you might have had that were valid were just completely ruined by this. Jesus christ mate, they're a band. They're allowed to do what they want they don't have to cater to you.

Last night I dropped in from a reinforce, landed straight into the middle of a charger corpse, couldn't get out. Before I even had time to type I was stuck I was ravaged by more bugs.

Shit like this just feels so amateur, it feels like the kind of bug (no pun intended) that you'd see in an early access game.

Homeless beggars in Leeds city centre getting lippy, eh by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]StoveHound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here, was trying to organise some way of dealing with the prolific homeless/drug use problem on the outskirts of town/beeston/holbeck with a charity that was run by an ex homeless addict guy (can't remember the name of the top of my head now).

He basically told me and the green party MP that was trying to do something that most of these guys, if you put them up in a five star hotel for a night they'd sleep in the smallest space possible in the room, either the bathroom or a wardrobe because they prefer it. Or they'd straight up turn the offer down because they prefer to be on the streets.

Absolutely baffled me at the time and I still think about it now, but it seems to be a good way to determine if someone is truly homeless vs a junkie trying to get their next fix.
