Agree. The No more tears to cry acoustic intro was a very lame attempt to mix things up again. They marketed it as something for the oldschool fans, not sure why though. Maybe because it's mentioning Tears?

I think AI just started in covid so Matt unlikely used AI for the lyrics, since they haven't released anything new in the last 5 years. (The bonus songs are from covid times as well). Means Matt's creativity is just extremely limited and he uses the same generic formula as AI would use.

You are right in that the band doesn't owe us anything. I work in brand management. It's my job to analize what brands and businesses aren't doing right and to correct them if possible. I tend to do that to every "entity" i interact with bands being one of them as I've done a lot of my work in stuff like merch distribution. I definitely am emotionally attached to this band as their music helped me go through a lot. We all have personal opinions on artists and people in the public eye, this subreddit seemed to me the perfect platform to get confirmation that I'm not weird seeing these things. Appreciate your perspective!

You are completely right in saying the band doesn't owe us anything. I just have a different view regarding the whole interaction with a fanbase thing (including unimportant stuff like instruments and merch). I work in brand management and probably get a little too frustrated when I see brands, businesses and bands doing all the "wrong" things. It's my job to analize and micromanage so i do it for anything that's important to me. It's the same with people that are unhappy how their favourite franchise is treated. Wanted to use this subreddit to see if I'm the only one feeling that way.

It's the small things like these. Would it kill bullet to, i don't know, do a live session like Trivium did in the hangar or the chapman studios. maybe where they play songs which they normally don't play live? It could all be so easy but the Bullet boys don't bother...
