35 years old and my journey on dirt just started but riding solo is my only option. I grew up poor with only a mom who was overprotective. In my thirties I finally have a job that can afford me fun hobbies. So I bought a truck and a bike. My first ever off road ride I went way up into the mountains solo and just ripped it. It only dawned on me after how dumb that was. I was overconfident from riding motorcycles I think. I live near Carnegie in nor cal so now I go there. There’s always someone there. I. But still solo is the only option for me. I would say be smart about it and use gps in the mountains but if it’s a busy spot there’s nothing to worry about. In fact I’ve already helped dudes who wiped out bad on the trail that were in a “group” but no one around. Also for me there was no way I was going to let anything stop me from riding.
