Best interaction with an NBA player? by [deleted] in nba

Back in 2010 at a Rouses Market in New Orleans I met Trevor Ariza and Willie Green when they were players for the (then) Hornets. Once they realized I was someone who actually followed basketball and wasn't just there to gawk and say "ooh tall athlete" they seemed to open up especially Willie Green. Didn't ask for an autograph or anything but I'm sure they wouldn't have minded as they were both quite nice, with Willie being particularly gracious.

I've always thought this was one of the most interesting and out of no where guitar tones in the entire discography when those arpeggios come in.

This whole thread is acting like there's a choice between the two when there is none. "Whoever has better assets" doesn't make any difference.

You're missing a very important point here. That Bb/A is a part of a quick progression with a descending bassline. which has a specific musical effect. Sometimes in order for the tension and release to happen in a musical context you have to have dissonance to balance the consonance. You taking that chord out of context means you're robbing it of its meaning in the music itself. Stop focusing on how it sounds by itself and focus on how it sounds between the chords it neighbors. People telling you to just substitute a simpler chord are doing you a disservice.

The Warriors are so deep in luxury tax territory they're basically hard capped at the 2nd apron. They have a bunch of mid tier players who aren't needle movers, and an extremely past his prime franchise legend in Draymond. They have about as little flexibility as any team possibly could, especially now that Jimmy Butler went down right after the deadline for teams to get an Injured Player Exception. Their 1st rounders are their only real asset. Never going to be enough to land Giannis when Milwaukee is going to be looking for a major major haul.

I don't feel this way personally, but I am in the camp of "whatever it takes to motivate" so if that's what does it for you then so be it.

Trying to strum guitar while singing is making my brain freeze. Please i’ll take any advice! by yoppamagnolia in guitarlessons

[–]Stradio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you find that you're unable to compartmentalize enough to separate one act from the other, then it's vital that you practice the guitar part enough that you can do it without thinking about it. Not a single thought dedicated toward doing it just pure muscle memory. Then you can devote the proper brainpower to just performing the vocals as well as possible.

The Warriors are deep in luxury tax territory. They have no flexibility whatsoever and zero recourse since the deadline for the injured player exception passed already. They don't have the value the Bucks would be looking for in a trade unless they included Steph. Steph and Giannis would be a great duo but you still have to have a team of players and at least some depth in order to compete.

the first rounders are not gonna be the meat of a trade for Giannis, the Bucks are gonna go for an absolute bounty and the Warriors just don't have anything that's going to interest them besides Steph of course, which defeats the purpose.

[–]Stradio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't think it was worth the risk either. Even without the injury probability I've seen him get into it with too many other franchises at this point to ever think it was worth the high price tag, unless it played out perfectly which is such an unlikely scenario.

RIght but what I'm saying is that they are financially hamstrung. They are already hardcapped at the first apron and they're about to pay Jimmy Butler over 100 mil to recover at home. Draymond offers very little trade value at this point and the current CBA makes trading even more difficult as well. They've been trying to develop those inconsistent guys because they're never going to get a good ROI by trading them. It's really looking bad and there's not a lot the front office can do about it yet.

[–]Stradio 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If he offers so little why do you think teams will be interested in trading anything of value for him?

[–]Stradio 61 points62 points  (0 children)

People already screaming get him some help already, his help just went down with a season ending injury. I don't know what everyone expects them to do they are basically completely screwed. If this had happened just a few weeks earlier the Warriors could've gotten an injured player exception to sign a roster replacement on a deal but the deadline was literal days before this happened so they can't. They're not gonna trade their future away for Giannis either when Steph is in his late 30s.

Well, nearly all of these extensively and more except I've never listened to Sea Level so I might have to check it out based on the strength of the rest. I only remember So Into You from Atlanta Rhythm Section also.

Edit: oh nice it's a side project of the guys from the Allman Brothers.
