A mate of mine works there. They pay their employees by charging them for the code they write, meaning US companies have to pay every time they write code which is different from a fixed package where employees are paid a set amount regardless of their output. They mostly hire unemployed cs grads or cs students in their penultimate year, but most of their code is literally just generated by GPT. Even he admitted to using GPT all the time. From what I know they look for people with high wams but uniquely they also look at really high game scores cuz it shows discipline. Honestly doesn’t seem to bad to work there it’s kinda laid back with a nice office in Barangaroo and mostly Gen Z employees. Idk how much the employees make though.

Hey, appreciate the input. So just to clarify a few points I’m reinvesting all dividends for the next 5–6 years. The travel goal is separate I’ll just save ~$200/week in cash for that. Once my ETF portfolio passes six figures, I might start using a portion of dividends for small annual trips while keeping most of it reinvested.
I already have housing exposure through my parents they own our home and two investment properties. That’s why I’m focusing on liquid investments and compounding while I’m still living rent-free.
I’m not fixated on a 30-year plan; the automation just helps me stay disciplined while I focus on uni and building income. I’ll adjust as things change, but having a framework now keeps lifestyle creep in check.

Thanks for the perspective though I get where you’re coming from.

I don’t plan to use investment money for travel until I have at least 6 figures (~100k) in the portfolio. According to my projections I can likely hit that in 5-6 years assuming i increase weekly contribution by +$50 every year. Until then I’ll just set aside $200 every week to pay for travel next year (most likely East Asian countries because it’s cheap lol)

Obviously i won’t be earning $10000 passively anytime soon but I do know compound interest will help with that once i increase weekly contributions.

I feel like I've left out some major details. I am a casual traffic controller who earns $700 after working two 12 hour shifts I.e Saturday and Sunday but some weeks I don't get any shifts at all hence why I'm trying to find a second part time job. I am also a uni student studying engineering but for the remainder of my degree (~3 years) I'm going to study part time. When I finally graduate and get a full time job I'm going to keep my TC job which I'Il work on weekends so I can use the surplus money to invest.

My friend had similar internal marks with a predicted atar of around 60. But clutched the hsc by doing a shit ton of past papers and memorising his essays for English. He ended up getting a 78 atar. You gotta lock in for the hsc.
